• The Associated Press reports that the U.S. housing market is improving, but at a gradual rate.
• Bloomberg reports that house prices made the biggest jump since 2005 in the second quarter of this year.
• Service members who are being relocated will now be automatically eligible for short sales thanks to new guidelines from the Federal Housing Finance Agency.
• Hunter Army Airfield in Georgia opened a 98-home community called Hunter Ridge on the base.
• Homes sales in the Nashville region are on the rise, in part due to the Tennessee Housing Development Agency offering veterans and active duty military personnel a half-percent reduction in their mortgage interest when they buy a home.
