I think I’ll always be a fan of living off base. With BAH I can cover the rent, utilities AND internet and cable and phone which isn’t covered on base. And it might seem like blasphemy, but I don’t like shopping at the commissary or px.

I see both sides of this however our biggest peeve with living on base was how the same amount of BAH would be taken away from our family of two as a family of 4 or 5 but they got to stay in a bigger house. Not that we need a bigger house or anything, I just think less BAH should be taken out for those who don’t require as much space.
