Rett grew up in the small town of Charleston, Missouri, where most of his family still lives today. Upon graduation from high school, Rett attended the University of Missouri – Columbia, better known as Mizzou, where he received his degree in Agribusiness Management. It was also during his time at Mizzou, that he met his wife! Together, they now have two amazing sons and have made Columbia, MO their home!
Rett is incredibly proud to be a part of the awesome team at Veterans United. He has a passion for helping military families achieve the dream of home ownership and he looks forward to welcoming you to the Veterans United family!
In his free time, Rett enjoys spending time with his friends and family. He is an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loves all things Mizzou!
Rett really did exactly what I thought a loan officer would do, by keeping the process moving if there were high suspense items that came up. He also provided clarification around some more specific requests needed during underwriting.Toward the end, I was a bit shocked when I was told I needed to have the costs of the appraisal, the earnest money, and the estimated closing costs in my account to receive my clear to close - almost $1,500. The first two were already paid, and this would have required me to pull from my IRA.However, this was quickly cleared up and we were able to move forward!Just a personal note: I appreciate having a good relationship with people I am working with over an extended period of time. Rett and Caytlyn really made me feel comfortable working with them, as a first time homebuyer (that decided to buy one year early)Rett, the nickname “buddy” doesn’t seem to be the most professional term to call a client that you’re trying to keep as a loan recipient.I’m 31 years old, and a Human Resources professional with a Masters degree. You don’t have to call me “Sir”, by any means, though I don’t think you’d call a 60 year-old loan customer “buddy”. Just be equal.Definitely no hard feelings, just something to think about.Thank you for your help along the way.
Outstanding communication and Top Notch Customer Service from Rhett and his team. Team aren’t and Cat were on the spot responding to my many questions and concerns through the loan process. This was my first home loan and they made me at ease and comfortable from application to closing. I will certainly use Veterans United in the future and highly recommend to my veteran friends and family to use as well when looking for a home loan.
Rett and Caytlyn were outstanding ...they went above and beyond with their service, answering questions and making sure the whole process was easy for us and everything was taken care of in a timely fashion.
Rett was 100% of the reason why I stuck with Veterans United throughout the buying process. Even when I was not actively seeking a home to purchase Rett stayed in touch to make sure we knew he was ready when my wife and I were ready to take the next step. After we made an offer on a home Rett made himself available whenever needed including weekends, and evenings. His dedication to the customer experience is something that sets him apart from anyone I've dealt with in the industry.
Rhett and his team was fantastic. This is our first time buying a house and we were skeptical at first. Rhett made this process so easy! He advised us well on how to get things done and answered questions promptly. With his guidance we were able to close a whole week ahead of schedule. Thank you Rhett and Caytlyn and your team for helping us execute this buying process!
Mr. Thompson was 100% engaged and super professional!
