Jim Roy, the 16th Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, accomplished a great deal during a distinguished, 30-year career. But purchasing a home was not one of those accomplishments.
When he and his wife, Paula, decided they were finally ready to become homeowners upon retirement, they turned to Veterans United Home Loans and loan officer Barby Wulff, NMLS #177100, for no-nonsense service and a process that made sense.
"After almost 31 years of service it was a big decision for us," said Chief Roy, who is on the Veterans United team of Military Advisors. "It’s a dream that most of us as Americans have."
The Roys started working with another lender but found the experience lacking. The difference was night-and-day when they came to Veterans United.
"You’ve got explain why it is the way it is, and Veterans United I found did that," Chief Roy said. "They didn’t tell me just sign at the bottom line. They shared with me why it’s important at any given time through the process.
"It’s great that we could get associated with a company like Veterans United to be able to allow us to live in such a great structure that we could make a home out of it."
