Hangout with Nasa Astronaut Colonel Michael Hopkins

NASA Astronaut and Air Force Colonel Michael Hopkins will join Veterans United for a “Heroes Hangout” on May 6th at 4pm ET. Col. Hopkins recently returned from the International Space Station.Col. Hopkins will join Sarah Hill of the Veterans United Network in a Google+ Hangout along with students from Rock Bridge Elementary. Born in Lebanon, Missouri, Col. Hopkins now lives in Houston, Texas with his family. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Illinois and went on to get a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Stanford. After graduating from Stanford, Hopkins was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force. There, he would go on to train and make his first trip to the International Space Station on September 25, 2013. According to NASA, during his time at the Space Station, “Hopkins conducted a pair of spacewalks to change out a degraded pump module for a  total of 12 hours and 58 minutes.”
