Veterans and Guest Registration

Tickets are available to Vietnam Veterans and their guests. To accommodate as many Vietnam Veterans as possible, each Vietnam Veteran will be allowed one guest in the VIP Veteran seating area. All other guests will be in the general public section.

We invite everyone to join us in welcoming home the Vietnam Veterans by cheering for them along Constitution Avenue during the Walk. No ticket needed for viewing the Walk.

Arrival and Transportation

Complimentary shuttle buses will be available to transport registered Vietnam Veterans and their guests from the parking lots to the Walk and Concert, and then back to the parking area. Details regarding specific bus departure times and the parking lot location will be shared at a later date.

Where will the walk take place?

Where is the start line and check-in tent located?

15th Street NW (Between Madison and Jefferson Drive) Washington, D.C.

Check-in Tents will be located at the Shuttle Bus Parking Lot, 15th Street and Henry Bacon Drive.

What is the length of the Walk?

Just shy of a mile.

Do I need to participate in the Walk to attend the Concert?

No, but the Vietnam Veteran and their plus one do need to register in order to be in the Vietnam Veteran seating area of the concert.

Can I walk in the Walk with my Vietnam Veteran?

Yes.

Where will the Concert take place?

Near the Vietnam Wall (Henry Bacon Dr. NW, Washington, D.C.)

When do the Concert gates open?

12:45 PM.

Can I sit with my Vietnam Veteran, family or group at the concert?

Each registered Vietnam Veteran and their plus one will be allowed entry to the special seating section for Vietnam Veterans at the concert. Additional guests will ONLY be allowed in the general public section for the concert.

Can I bring blankets to sit on for the general public section?

Yes. Seats will not be provided for the general public section.

Can I bring my dog with me?

  • Service animals are allowed on the walk and at the concert.
  • We encourage people to leave their pets at home. Pets will not be permitted in the concert.

What is your bag policy for the concert?

Bags are allowed but will be subject to search.

Do I need to register for this event?

Yes, the Vietnam Veteran and their plus one do need to register in order to secure seats in the Veteran section for the concert.

Additional guests do not, and will be allowed in the general public section for the concert.

Will there be emergency medical services available at the event?

Yes, there will be ambulances located on site, trained medical first responders and shaded tents will also be available.

How much walking will be involved for the Walk?

Just shy of a mile.

How much walking will be involved in getting to the concert seating area?

You will have to walk about 100 yards over uneven surfaces to the seating area located in the grass area. We highly encourage you to bring your own wheelchair or walker if necessary.

Should I bring my own wheelchair and mobility devices to the ceremony and events?

Yes, please bring your own wheelchair, walker or other mobility device to the scheduled events. Please make sure your mobility devices have a label with your name on it so that it can be easily identified.

Are ADA bathrooms available?

Yes, accessible bathrooms are available at the concert site but not on the walk. We encourage everyone to plan accordingly.

Transportation / Shuttle

What kind of transportation is provided for the scheduled events?

Complimentary shuttle buses will be provided to bring registered Vietnam Veterans and their guests from the guest parking lots to the Walk and Concert and back to the parking lot. Specific times of bus departure will be provided at a later date.

When will buses leave the concert to take me back to the parking lot?

Shuttle buses will be provided throughout the day and shortly after the concert ends. Specific times of bus departure will be provided at a later date.

Will there be a lift on the complimentary bus, if a guest is in a wheelchair or walker and cannot use the steps?

Yes.

Can I drive to the concert and park nearby?

We strongly recommend you do not drive to the concert as many streets will be closed off for the multiple events taking place in D.C. and there is very limited parking. If you live locally and plan to attend the events, it would be best to take Rideshare or use our complimentary shuttle bus and parking lot - location to be announced soon. Metro is another option - For maps, schedules, and fees, please visit wmata.com.

Attire

What is the dress code for the event?

Patriotic Casual. We encourage Veterans to wear earned military medals, ribbons, hats or swag.

Food & Water

Where can I find food and drinks?

Water stations will be available for Veterans and their guests throughout the event.

A box meal will be provided for registered Vietnam Veterans and their plus one ONLY.

Food can be purchased at food trucks and kiosks in the surrounding areas for the general public and additional guests.

Restrooms

Are bathrooms available at the event?

Yes, bathrooms are available at the concert site but not on the walk. We encourage everyone to plan accordingly.
