Joy of a New Ride

University of Missouri student Kathleen Oglesby was injured in a sledding accident in 2015. She collided with a tree and doctors found cracks in several vertebrae and damage to her spinal cord.

Kathleen has faced a grueling battle of physical therapy to get healthy and regain some independence. She even dreamed about being able to drive again, which required purchasing an adapted car with hand controls.

Veterans United Foundation, the charitable arm of Veterans United Home Loans, stepped in to provide the remaining funds for Kathleen's new car. Her youthful enthusiasm burst to life when she took her first ride.
