There was zero guidance on the closing process. As soon as an offer was made all urgency left the team because they knew we would finance with VU. Zero follow up on payment schedules other than pawning our mortgage payment to another company. Avoid VU and save the headache.

Home buying can be stressful especially when you’re juggling regular life with a bunch of kids. Understanding the lending process let alone a VA Loan was a lot of work (for me). Veterans United made the process simple and my loan officer, Rachel was outstanding! Made the process simple. Clearly communicated every step of the way. And fought for our best interests when the seller was committed to their own best interests. I’d recommend Rachel and Veterans United in a heartbeat.

great communication and professional service

Kyle Baker and team are wonderful, kind, professional and quick to respond with information.

The team was very helpful and responsive with any questions we had.

This team was very patient with me. I struggle with main mental health issues which caused some days where I was ready to give up hope. This team talked me through my worries and got me back on track. They are very on top of communication and understanding what all the fine print is. I was recommended this team, I'm thrilled I took the recommendation. I now own a house and I never thought that was going to be possible.

This process was smooth and quick. Everyone was super helpful and nice. They were very respectful and always thanked you for your service.

I would recommend my peers to at least shop around first as I essentially went straight to VU due to a recommendation from a friend who had a great experience.VU does a very good job at streamlining the process almost to a detriment, many times I felt confused as to exactly what needed to be completed because sometimes some of the "checklist" items on my landing page lacked context or specific instructions, this led to things being checked/ asked for last minute or even delaying closing. Additionally, I worked with several different people with different roles, and they never really defined what those roles where, so when I went to ask a question, often times I didn't know who to go to.I mostly worked through a "loan coordinator" who while they were cordial, I had a hard time getting ahold of their office. I had a few times where I called without answer or even left a message that was never responded to. When I did finally get ahold of them, they didn't seem to have many answers on hand and would have to go track them down, they also seemed to follow up on things last minute, leaving us to have to scramble to get requisite answers or follow-up paperwork. I just felt as though all these factors contributed to a delay in the process.Overall I had a decent experience with VU and maybe I had had a bad luck of the draw between the situation I was in, and people assigned to me. My recommendation to others if that if you go with VU, learn everyone's role and be proactive on your loan process.

Steve is great. The refinancing was painless

I would recommend the title company and real estate agents but never my loan officer!
Response from Veterans United
Hey Michael,
I’m glad to hear you had a good experience with your title company and real estate team, but I’m truly sorry to hear you felt let down by your loan experience. That’s not the level of care or respect we want any of our borrowers to feel, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.
I’d really like us to review what happened and see how we can learn from your experience. Please reach out to 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. Our team is available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time.
your team was fantastic. Good people these days are very hard to find. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Met every need and question I had. 10/5 would recommend!!

As much as I work, the team did a superb job accommodating me in my endeavor to purchase my home. The collaboration between the teams were impeccable. I have been impressed with how my home buying experience went. I have spoken to my fellow veterans at work and recommended Veterans United for a great home buying experience. Thank you guys and hope to do another home buying transaction in the future.

Andy Miller won me over and led me through the process wonderfully, his assistant Jake was a bit more direct and could use some work with his communication style (email etiquette and tone mostly). Would recommend to others!
