Amanda Andrade joins Veterans United executive team as chief people officer

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Veterans United Home Loans has added Amanda Andrade to its executive team as chief people officer. Andrade is tasked with enhancing the company's workplace culture, employee retention and talent acquisition efforts nationwide that have already led to a workforce of more than 900 in 21 states.

Andrade is currently working towards her Ph.D., at the University of Missouri. Her dissertation is focused on "Highly Profitable, Employee-Centric Work Environments."

"We must ensure each employee is a great fit for our values since our culture is so important. Employees must be passionate about serving military families, supporting their community and helping their fellow employees. Amanda is the perfect fit because of her experience, and she is literally writing the paper on building a business where people can feel fulfilled in their work while serving others and having fun."

Andrade joins Veterans United after holding the director of human resources position at Shelter Insurance in Columbia for six years. She was director of human resources at Missouri Employers Mutual in Columbia and the State of Missouri Department of Social Services in Jefferson City prior to that. She has a Master of Science in architectural studies from the University of Missouri, a Master of Education in adult education and counseling from Northern Arizona University and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Ottawa University.

Andrade has several professional certifications, including Senior Professional in Human Resources, Certified Compensation Professional and Global Remuneration Professional. She has also been a board member of local nonprofit and government boards.
