The staff at veterans united were very helpful and did the best they could with most of our circumstances. Our listing agent who helped sell our home and buy our new home definitely had a few slip ups 1) being that the things that were verbally agreed upon during our walk through of the home did not get written into our contract which having to purchase new equipment that was verbally agreed would come with the home definitely set us back. And due to the urgency of rushing our signing and closing we were not permitted a final walk through of the home prior to moving in which to say it kindly left us in a bit of a shock, the skirting of the house was broken and torn in several places, a heard of feral cats had made their home under the house and had completely destroyed the insulation and caused a very fowl odor to linger throughout many parts of the house (strong smell of cat urine and old unchanged litter box) pieces of the trim were torn or broke entirely, there was a large gauge in the floor, the master bathroom door is missing, one of the windows in the guest bedroom is broken. And my wife has had to vigorously scrub and clean for several days because the previous owners did not bother to clean anything, and had left multiple piles of discarded metal and wood scraps. Veterans united were unable to provide a moving service in our area due to the rual location and the company we were able to secure originally quoted us $3000 to move everything 88miles and then before pickup jacked the price to more than double and due to their company policy were not able to keep our belongings held for the 3 days from pick up to delivery so instead of taking our belongings from house A and transporting it to house B they literally just returned our belongings to house A and crudely dumped them into the shop so we ultimately ended up having to pay for a moving service we were never provided and had to move all of our belongings by ourselves using a friends horse trailer in multiple trips after closing. Veterans united were very apologetic about the misfortunes we endured however did not offer any kind of compensation or retribution for all of the hardships. I am thankful that they were able to get our loan approved when we honestly didn’t think we had a prayer so cutos to their loan team for getting us approved with no down payment necessary. So in being as fair and honest as I can be an 8/10 is the best I can honestly and genuinely give.

The experience went well except for the fact that they kept trying to get every bank transaction which was more than I was willing to divulge, even with a 770 score.

Great communication and help every step of the way. Made the purchase go smoothly and very efficient. Thank you for being so great at what you do! 😃

The process was smooth and easy, thanks Veterans United team!

We love Veterans United!

I had a good experiance when I bought the house but when I was just doing a streamline which should have been simple and easy.
No one told me to stop autopay before closing and I was told I wouldn’t have to pay the next month,, so I didn’t transfer the money and you ran autopay which cost me 60.00 in fees before I caught it. When I called about it I felt like the several people I talked blew me off saying I should’ve stopped autopay.Next you canceled the home owners insurance policy which then created a whole lot of stress and issues trying to get that corrected and my home covered, luckily nothing happened in the 6 days I didn’t have coverage, when the papwer work I signed said that coverage was supposed to be paid through mortgage as it was before the refinance. Also I don’t understand why closing cost were almost as high as the first loan especially for a stream line and then the rate was higher when said and done versus when I started the process.
Response from Veterans United
Hey Allen,
I appreciate you sharing your feedback, and I’m sorry to hear the refinance process didn’t go as smoothly as your first experience with us. I understand how frustrating it must have been dealing with the autopay issue, the temporary lapse in insurance coverage, and the questions about your costs and rate. That’s not the kind of stress we ever want to create for our borrowers.
I’d really like my advocates to review your file and see what happened so we can better explain those details and make sure your concerns are fully addressed. Matthew and the "gang" made the home buying process effortless on my part. Always had a clear answer for the layman questions I threw at them and a wealth of patience with me . A real pleasure to work with across the board !

The prompt communication from the team at VU was much appreciated. Buying a home is an extremely complex process, and the team made things so much easier.
