Tommy and his team were wonderful.

Everybody we worked with at VU was amazing and I felt like they went above and beyond during our loan process.

Everyone was always friendly and helpful

I was rushed and pushed through the whole process and being a new home buyer I was blinded and never coached on what anything meant. Being told many times to just sign or you wont close but yet no guidance why the rush and not a reason why but a quick paycheck. I never agreed to a 30 day extension after close and was very adamant about it. I overpaid for the house and the negotiations was made in the favor or the realtor not the buyer or seller. I will never use or recommend this company service to any of my service brothers period.

Hi Jay,
I'm really sorry to hear how all of this played out. As a first-time homebuyer—especially someone trusting us with your VA loan—you should have felt supported, informed, and in control every step of the way. Instead, it sounds like you felt rushed, confused, and left without the guidance you needed. That’s incredibly frustrating, and it’s not the experience we want for anyone.
The pressure you described around signing documents and not understanding key parts of the process is especially concerning. Whether it's a 30-day extension or final numbers, you deserve clear explanations—not ultimatums. That’s something we take seriously, and I appreciate you calling it out.
I'd like to have our Client Advocate team take a closer look at what happened with your loan, including any concerns around how negotiations or communication were handled. If you’re open to talking, you can reach us at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We’re available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST—but you're welcome to reach out anytime.

Veterans United and John Ouk and his team are very exceptional. They work with you through the process keep you informed and explain everything in detail where you can understand it. I would highly recommend Veterans United this is the second time that I have used them.

They were great! They made the process easier than expected. They went above and beyond. I would definitely recommend them to everyone.

Absolutely seamless. Everything went as smooth as possible. Thank you so much.

We had a stress free process working with VU, Marty and his team! Thank you!

Very much satisfied with the service and patience through multiple offers to finally closing. Will definitely be using VU again with my next home purchase

Response from Veterans United
Hey there James,
We did "see above" and I really appreciate you calling out Matt’s efforts—he’s a steady hand in tough situations, and I’m glad he was able to help see things through for you. That said, I’m genuinely sorry the experience leading up to that point was such a mess. Getting passed between teams, delayed timelines, and last-minute funding is not the kind of service we aim to provide—especially when you were staying on top of every request as quickly as you did.
I can only imagine how frustrating it was having to juggle labor, truck rentals, and extended rent while waiting on us. That’s a level of stress no one should have to deal with during what’s already a high-stakes process. I’d love the chance to look into where the breakdowns happened and make sure we’re learning from them. If you're open to chatting, feel free to reach out at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com.
We're here from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central, but please don’t hesitate to reach out anytime.

This was my first time buying a home and I came into everything not knowing anything what so ever. Each person on my team explained their roles and what they did and made everything so much easier on me. It took us a while to find our home and everybody was extremely patient with us and exuded professionalism with every interaction.
