Jodi and her team were phenomenal. They were all professional and kept me informed along the journey. It was such a pleasure, and we closed remarkably early because of their diligence, professionalism, and hard work. Of course, I would recommend Veteran United. Thank you!

Listen. If you are serious about owning a home, Veterans United is definitely a preferred option, in my opinion. The steps it took to purchasing our home was frustrating to say the least. In my wife and I case, we were purchasing from our landlord, so a realtor wasn't necessary. However, gathering the necessary documents, coordinating with the different agencies like appraisals, home inspections, insurance, title company, and loads of paperwork, signatures, and questions are still very much a part of the process. Our team, Nick Holman, Courtney Gully, Francie Greene, and the rest of their supporting members were there from the first phone until the closing on our home. They fielded every question, listened to all of our frustration, guided us through the whole process step by step, and we're encouraging, patient, professional, and, most of all, very polite, friendly, and engaging whenever we were in contact with them. I mean they kept in touch by phone, text, and email. Even sent us mail. Who does that in this technology age? Seriously, they were the best team my wife and I could ask for in communicating with us and our landlord to make this dream a reality!! I highly recommend Veterans United to anyone who’s reading this review, or anyone who asks is this company for real. To our team, Nick Holman, Courney Gully, Francie Greene, and their supporting team members, thank you for everything! We can't say thank you enough. My wife, Valencia Long, and I now own our home!!!

Personally I had a great team. It was not easy for me. I hate computers. Any time I needed help they was always there to guide me. I told them I wanted to close before it snows. They got it done. What a team. It took a lot of patience. I checked them out with the bbb. They have high ratings. I can see why. If you want a great team I recommend team Kendall from Missouri. Thanks for all you guys and gals did. I am happy as I could ever be. I'm ready for mortgage payments instead of paying someone else.

At closing I was provide at least 3 different loan close out forms - all have different amounts to have a cashier check ready for the title company. When I did arrive for final closing none of these amounts were correct, requiring the title company to issue me a check for the balance due back to me. They then had to settle with Veterans United/and mortgage company. It would seen to me that they should be able to be more accurate with this. To me it shows a lack of attention to detail.

Response from Veterans United

Hi Todd,
I’m sorry for the confusion you experienced at closing. I know how frustrating it must have been to prepare for one amount only to learn that the final figure had changed. Accuracy and clear communication are incredibly important, especially at that stage of the process, and I can understand why this felt disappointing.

I’d really like my people to take a closer look at what happened so we can see where things may have gone wrong and how to prevent similar issues in the future. Please reach out to my Advocate team at 1-800-212-5200 or email ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We’re available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time.

Cal Thompson and everyone was veterans. United was very helpful. They made sure that I understood everything and if they didn’t know the answer they found it for me. They went above and beyond to get me closed earlier than the actual contract date. We also used veterans united in 2020 and bought a house. I would not go with anyone else.

Harley and Paige communicated with me very well. They were very patient with my attempts at downloading documents. I made a couple of blunders during this process and they were very understanding and not condescending with me.

House feels like it is a lemon, confused on how it passed inspection. Water main seal broken, ac unit broken, multiple doors missing completely from the home as well as 4 taken off hinges. Home buying process also did not go well. Realtor would never answer phone and still doesn’t. Closing costs changed 5 times, with 3 of those being within 7 days of closing. On top of that to have to pay over $2000 in repair costs as soon as I move in is absolutely not ok. We feel let down. Also went over the amount that we said we felt comfortable with monthly but at that point less than a week from closing we felt that we had no other option as we absolutely required housing being that we already on the way there and had no other options at that point. We jumped through every hoop we were asked to jump through however we do not feel the same about the due diligence of our house being looked into. On top of all the issues of the house mechanically the house was absolutely disgusting and filthy when we moved in as well which was another let down. Massive balls of hairs in drains, blood stains in the shower, dirt and dust everywhere etc etc. I was super excited to buy my first home with me being the main buyer but I feel taken advantage of and like we’ve been left in the dust now and now all these problems that clearly existed before we bought the house are just now OUR problems and that is very frustrating and saddening.

Response from Veterans United

Hi Christopher,
I’m truly sorry to hear how your first homebuying experience turned out. I can only imagine how disheartening it is to be so excited about your first home, only to face mechanical issues, unexpected repair costs, and a home that wasn’t move-in ready. That’s not the experience we want for anyone, and I understand why you feel let down.

I also hear your concerns about the changes to closing costs and the monthly payment you felt pressured to accept so close to closing. While the VA appraisal process is designed to assess value at a surface level, it doesn’t replace a full home inspection, which is the best way to identify repairs before closing. That doesn’t make your situation any less frustrating, and I’d like to take a closer look at your file to understand everything that happened.

Please reach out to my team directly at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We’re available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday. If you contact us outside those hours, we’ll get back to you the next business day.
