I greatly appreciate how responsive and helpful the Veterans United team was throughout the entire process. We had a challenging transaction due to issues with the sellers, but the team went above and beyond to keep everything moving and make the deal work. They made a difficult process much easier for us, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a home.
Everyone was professional and courteous and respectful
The communication was terrible. Not so much with Aaron but Jeremy was terrible. His communication was horrendous. We never got all the information when we needed to, and that caused delays more than a once. Not just us who thought this, the legal teams and the insurance representative all had the same complaints.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Michael,
I appreciate you taking the time to let me know where communication fell short during your experience. I'm sorry communication wasn't as consistent or timely as it should have been. I understand how frustrating it can be when you're waiting on important information, especially when you feel those communication gaps are contributing to delays.
I appreciate you recognizing Aaron's efforts, and I also take your concerns about the rest of the experience seriously. I'd like the opportunity to learn more about what happened and make sure your feedback is heard. Please reach out to the Client Advocate team at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com.
The team is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, and messages received outside those hours are typically answered the next business day.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
Great communication , and customer support
Working with Veterans United was a great experience the entire way. From the start, Reed was very friendly, passionate about with veterans, and flexible enough to work with my wife and I who in two different time zones. He was very responsive to any questions we had and made sure to find time for calls if we were looking for a detailed explanation. We ended up walking away from the first house but closed on the second, it was an easy transition. And we were even able to close earlier than expected. The app is easy to use and keeps this organized. Overall 10/10
Joe was very professional and took the time to ensure we had all our questions answered and that we understood everything. When we didn’t feel like we had anyone in our corner, Joe had always been honest and upfront on everything!
I couldn’t be anymore thankful for the team I had. They were extremely helpful, patient, QUICK and informative. I truly felt like they wanted me to buy my home more than I did and it wa sa beautiful feeling.
Too many people involved for one loan, things get missed and mixed up in the process leading to more stress and confusion, plus my loan coordinator was using ChatGPT to answer questions I had, I would’ve done that myself, also the final closing disclosure was shocking as it increased the cash to close by $6k, how was that not brought up before hand on all the other loan estimates. General attitude of my loan coordinator was unacceptable, it resorted to my wife doing all of the paperwork with her because I couldn’t talk to her. I don’t think there’s a need for a loan coordinator if the loan officer is the one asking for all the documentation to send to the underwriter. I wouldn’t go through with this or a VA home loan again because of this experience.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Tralin,
I’m sorry this process left you feeling more stressed and confused instead of supported. Having multiple people involved should never leave you wondering who is responsible for what or feeling like your questions aren’t being answered directly. I’m also concerned to hear about your experience getting answers to your questions and the communication with your loan team.
I can understand how upsetting it would be to see a significant change in the amount needed at closing without feeling like you had a clear explanation beforehand. Changes can occur throughout the loan process, but you deserve to understand what changed and why.
I appreciate you taking the time to share these concerns. I’d like the opportunity to look more closely at your experience and the communication you received throughout the process. Please reach out to me at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
Great experience. Felt welcomed, guided through the process, felt like I wasn’t pressured or treated like a child.
My reps were amazing they slow walked me through every step of the process explaining things sometimes again and again so that I was clear and content
Very glad to have been assigned Stephen Erickson as my loan officer. This was my first time looking for a house and I had no idea what was going on so I reached out real early. I finally closed on it yesterday, but Stephen has been going above and beyond to help me over the last 7 months. Guided me through the whole process and then some. Very honest and again, just above and beyond. Now that I know a bit more about all the roles and steps, I'm just really appreciative of how much the whole VU team really helped me through this thing. I got a really good deal too, VU has a great app and gives extremely competitive rates for VA loans. Definitely will use them again if I ever move or anyone ask me for a recommendation. I'd also like to give a special thanks to Erin as she was also a pleasure to work with and I don't see a specific spot for that.
I recommend anyone who is buying a home to go with the VU. They are experts at what they do and they are very professional.
The constant calls. The massive lack of communication. The telling me one thing, then calling the insurance broker or landlord and giving them completely different information. I wouldn't take this team to Mcdonalds for the dollar menu. I've seen bad, I've never seen a team so bad at being aligned. Wouldn't recommend to friends, family, even enemies.
