Communication was definitely an issue though, needs improvement.
During the entire process we could not reach our loan team as they were terrible communicators. In addition, we were unable to use or VA loan benefits because of the terrible appraisal that was performed on our home ($44,000 less than the appraisal for our conventional loan) and the company’s refusal to allow us to pay for a new one. Our loan team suggested that we switch to a conventional loan with a 5% down payment through their company, so we did, only to find out the day before closing that we did not qualify for this down payment. In order to avoid homelessness, we had to take a loan out from retirement to make the down payment. This financial hardship could have been avoided if the company would have allowed a new appraisal on the original loan or if our loan team knew how to do their job and told us that we would need an extra $59,000 for the conventional loan down payment upfront as we would have gone with another loan provider. The company did nothing to make any of these issues right or even acknowledge their mistakes.

Jerry and Courtney were amazing. They made it all go smooth. This is our second home purchase using Veterans United and we couldn’t be happier about choosing to use them again. Thanks again Jerry and Courtney for all your hard work and help.

I would like more transparency on how credit scores are calculated. There was a roughly 80 point decrease in what VU pulled versus what my consumer credit reports showed. I believe that is too big of a discrepancy.
It was a longer road than I anticipated but I have my home!!!
Carrie was on top of everything and a good communicator. I reccomend her highly.
Cant say enough about V U they were there when I needed them they treated me like a friend instead of a client. They are Awesome.Thank you,
Veterans United has my 100 percent support!
If you are looking to begin your home buying journey shop around for your lender if you haven’t already settled with your bank. It’s hard to get ahold of the officials when a lot of documents are very time sensitive. If you need to save money before buying a house, veteran United has random fees, so I suggest saving at least $3,000 more than anticipating. All in all I did go through veterans United for my home loan and I am happy with my decision, I just wish the process was a little less stressful. Thanks
