Our loan team was responsive and professional at all times. They kept us informed as the process progressed and responded to both messages and email promptly. They also facilitated an early closing for us which put us in our new home about two weeks early. I would highly recommend the Veteran's United Team to any veteran looking to purchase a home.

Air Force veteran and now a first-time homeowner. Thank you Veterans United for making the process of purchasing my new home easy and hassle-free. My team worked exceptionally hard to meet the deadline for closing, and made the entire process seamless painless. I would easily recommend VU to anyone I know.

Veterans United made so many thing easier to do and had great online tools to manage the loan and paperwork. My loan team was very friendly and responded quick to everything I needed. I would go to them every time I buy a place in the future if we eventually sell and move again. Thank you so much VU!

This was our second experience with Veterans United and we could not have been more pleased with the outstanding service, communication, responsiveness and ease of use (with the website - the website is one of the best I've seen).

Topics that will be discussed below:
-To-do list
-Communication
-Time managementSo, I have been waiting months for an opportunity to write this review. Very rarely do I ever care enough to take the effort and write a review on a company, good or bad, but today I've got time. I never expected to have such a negative experience with a ,"veteran friendly," company. My to-do list was horrific to complete in a timely manner, simply for the fact that they inconsistently sent out requests for things. It would have been much easier if they posted everything you need to complete all at once, so you're able to knock all of it out. The underwriter they use, for lack of better terms, had no clue what they were doing. They shouldn’t be working closely with a veteran friendly company, if they don’t know anything about military statuses. I couldn’t have been the first person to have dual statuses, with the reserves and active duty.
The communication wasn't there either, in ways it should have been. It was notably so horrible, that I didn't even know I was closing on my house, until the day I was supposed to close. How does that even happen? I don’t think I’ve ever dialed a phone number so fast in my life, to get a hold of my loan specialist. The specialist was very nice, sure, but even she admitted she had dropped the ball on things entirely.
The next thing that I was equally as frustrated about, would include the poor punctuality. Some of which, I’m cognizant of the fact, wasn’t always the loan teams fault. But the loan team would schedule hours to call me, then not call me at all or call way out of the allotted time we agreed upon. I work in a fairly dangerous career field, so I am unable to just step away and take phone calls. That’s why I needed them to be punctual on times we agreed upon. It took me getting more than hateful on the phone about their unprofessionalism, before this started to get better.
The one good thing I can say about the company is that my interest rate was really good, but that’s going to vary buyer to buyer. I would not recommend this company and have actively gone out of my way to let my friends, family, and especially my fellow veterans, to not use this company.

My husband who is the Veteran and I just completed a refinance with Veterans United Home Loans and I will be completely honest about our experience with Veterans United. Our situation was unique. We were self-employed and home based. That in itself was part of a challenge and adding that we had some debt and had years ago co-signed some of our daughters student loans made our path to success rocky. But we got lucky. We got Don Smith for our Loan Officer. Don Smith is a rare individual who will go more than the extra mile for you as he did for us. We admit, we spent several months in this rocky process but I assure you it is a far smoother ride for most people because Veterans United does CARE about veterans and their families. So if you have no particular circumstances you won't find a faster, easier, more comforting company to deal with than Veterans United. But if you are like us and do have some issues to iron out, then Veterans United is one of the very few companies that will actually help you get your home or refinance. We had gone to many other companies prior to Veterans United who turned a cold shoulder to us and our unique situation so we know how special Veterans United is. All along the journey, Don Smith stayed the course with us, guiding us, teaching us, and helping us overcome hurdles and in the end we were approved and we closed one day before my birthday which was a SWEET birthday present. Getting a mortgage or a refinance is not for the weak of heart but If you want an experience with a mortgage company that leaves you HAPPY and RELIEVED in the end , call Don Smith at 1-800-814-1103 ext.2909 and tell him Patty sent you. You will see for yourself the difference that United Veterans is over most other mortgage companies.

I highly recommend Veterans United. They made my home-buying experience painless and easy. They were kind, caring, and knowledgable. They were always available for questions and responded quickly to calls/texts/emails. I will definitely use them again if I buy another house.
