As first time homebuyers we were extremely nervous. But Veterans United took all that anxiety and stress and guided us each step of the way. From the minute we started this journey we were paired with people who checked in on us, gave us the “cheat codes” you can say, and gave us a solid idea of what we needed to do to buy our home. From working on our credit to closing on our home we never had to sit confused not know what was going on. We could talk to someone at any point to get answers to our questions and that is a blessing to be able to offer this being many miles away from our loan team. I will recommend veterans United home loans to any and all of my friends everyone was so kind and friendly and helped me understand everything that needed to be done. Even though I was in another state I needed a little bit more time to do things that I needed to do they worked with me.

Seemingly everything they requested, I tried to get done asap I feel like they would post it day of and I would get it done night of. It would pend review for about 36 hours everytime. I talked to my realtor about the documents they were sending me. I didn’t understand the loan and closing cost estimates it looked like just a ton of numbers. My realtor said the loan company was supposed to go over that with me. Nobody went over it with me. I think I only talked to them directly on the phone 2 or 3 times. I told my family and friends this is an extremely confusing and stressful process working with them. I responded to an email within 5 mins of it being sent and I didn’t get a response back for days. They took days off of work without notifying me I just found out their first day out of office. Their replacement took about 3 days to respond back to me saying to help. My close got moved from 12/29 to 1/2. They didn’t understand the documents that the title company sent, the title company sent the same thing 5 times with an explanation. I will probably never use Veterans United if I have a choice. I want to include that this process was over the month of December so sure there was Christmas and new years but even before that there was a total lack of progress.

Other than the high interest rate I enjoyed working with the team. I do honestly have to say that they have requested more stuff from me than any other mortgage company I have ever used. In the end of the day they got the job done with several curve balls
