Veterans United Home Loans named one of the country's Best Workplaces for Women

September 19, 2017

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Veterans United Home Loans, a full-service VA lender, is proud to announce Great Place to Work® and Fortune have named it one of the country's 2017 Best Workplaces for Women, coming in at No. 37 on the list.

The list considered more than 400,000 employee surveys from hundreds of businesses in all sectors of the economy. The ranking gauged women's assessment of their organizations culture, leadership, fairness and other elements essential for a great workplace.

Our goal is to have a workplace culture that enhances the lives all of our employees, said Nate Long, CEO of Veterans United Home Loans. We are extremely grateful to have such an amazing group of women who work here. They not only deliver on their promises to the Veterans and service members we serve, but also play a vital role in enhancing their co-workers' lives as well. We are honored to receive this recognition.

Both women and men who work for companies that were named Best Workplaces for Women feel their employers provide ample opportunities to grow and advance in their careers, and provide them with the flexibility they want to balance their work and personal lives.

Research from Great Place to Work has shown that women are five times more likely to plan a long-term future with their employers when they say they are treated as full members of the team, regardless of position. The Best Workplaces for Women also set themselves apart from competitors in other important ways: 95 percent of women at these organizations describe them as friendly, and the same share say they are proud to tell others where they work.

"The Best Workplaces for Women deserve recognition for crafting environments where men and women alike can bring their best selves to work each day, said Michael Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work.

The Best Workplaces for Women is one of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work and Fortune based on employee feedback from Great Place to Work-Certified organizations. Veterans United also was ranked as No. 27 of the 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2017 by Great Place to Work and Fortune.
