Accomplished business attorney joins the Veterans United team after nearly four years with the University of Missouri System

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Veterans United Home Loans has added Matt Volkert to its team as chief strategy officer. Volkert will help define and implement strategic priorities and initiatives that will allow the company to continue its mission of serving veterans and service members, as well as protect its culture and values.

"Our values are an important part of our day-to-day activity," said Nate Long, chief executive officer for Veterans United. "Matt's immense knowledge and background will make him an integral part of this team, and an essential part of ensuring our values remain at the forefront of our initiatives that are built on serving our veterans even better."

Volkert previously served as a counsel for the University of Missouri System. While there he represented the university system in numerous areas, focusing most of his efforts on advising, managing and executing special projects and transactions. "The company is proud of its values and mission, and it truly cares about the people benefiting from the service it provides. My goal is to contribute to an already amazing work environment."

Volkert has several professional accomplishments, including working as a judicial clerk for Judge Duane Benton, then chief of justice of the Supreme Court of Missouri, and being admitted as a member of the bar in Missouri, Illinois and the U.S. District Courts for the Western District of Missouri and Northern District of Illinois.
