Veterans United Home Loans named one of the 2016 Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For by Great Place to Work® and Fortune

March 3, 2016

COLUMBIA, Mo. Veterans United Home Loans is honored to announce it is one of the 2016 Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For, according to Great Place to Work® and Fortune Magazine. The national lender focuses on VA Home Loans and was chosen as No. 30 on the list that recognizes companies with exceptional workplace culture.

Veterans United was selected among hundreds of companies vying for a place on the list, now in its 19th year. Companies choose to participate in the selection process, which includes an employee survey and an in-depth questionnaire about their programs and company practices. Great Place to Work® then evaluates each application using its unique methodology based on five dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie. Great Place to Work® has found employees believe they work for great organizations when they consistently trust the people they work for, enjoy the people they work with and have pride in what they do.

Being on the Fortune 100 list is worth celebrating for us as it's an outward expression of what we witness with our employees every day, said Nate Long, CEO at Veterans United. Our folks have a serious passion for helping our nation's Veterans and their families realize the dream of homeownership, and they also have a serious passion for helping each other. We hire people that genuinely care about the well-being of others and because of that they foster an atmosphere that is naturally engaging, productive and supportive. We know our collective efforts will have a big impact on the lives of service members, as well as each other and because of that; we come through the doors each day ready to work hard together as friends and co-workers. We have an amazing team.

This year's 100 best workplaces show-again-that trust fuels financial performance, said Michael Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work® United States. Great workplaces have significantly less turnover, outperform peers in the stock market and enjoy high levels of collaboration, communication and trust-crucial ingredients to innovation. The 100 best are setting the standard for all businesses.

Companies on the list see many benefits that include better financial performance, less employee turnover, higher levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty, more innovative and creative thinking, higher productivity and enhanced public perception.
