Andrea Rice and her team were absolutely amazing and awesome! Seriously, if I could, I'd give them all a big kiss! They totally made my dream of owning a home come true!
I would say miss Andrew and his team worked very hard and very good together and I think everyone should really take a lesson of it and I will get all of them 10 all day long and I will let people know veteran that they can get a house and thank you very much for your time and your efforts and everybody’s patience
All in all, my advice to future veterans is this, go with a local bank/credit union wherever you're deciding to plant roots. My reasons are below.1. This is NOT the fault of the loan team that handled my case, but the operating system that VU uses is one of the worst I've dealt with in my life. I submitted documents over and over again before the system would accept it. In addition to that, when I was required to give explanations for certain situations, the system would time out on me, but only after I would push the "submit" button to give my response. It was a hassle to get things submitted on the "To Do List." And there are enough things to do during the process where this becomes incredibly frustrating.2. This one DOES apply to my loan team. The loan team conducted an employment verification about 10 or so days before my original closing date, and I got a call from someone on the loan team saying my wife and I could no longer buy the house due to a funding issue on my part (this was something I had asked them about months ago and they said it would be no issue). During the call I reminded them that we spoke about this in the past and they said it would have no impact, but they replied with, sorry, but the underwriter doesn't like it. 30 minutes later I got a call back telling me everything was ok. It all turned out fine in the end, but the stress with the process increased exponentially, and my confidence with the loan team plummeted.3. This one IS on the loan team again. My realtor and I would have questions for the loan team, and we couldn't get someone to answer the phone for multiple days (to include messages). It doesnt sound like much, but when you're waiting for an answer to make a move on a house, it becomes a bigger issue. On the plus side, the loan team was incredibly responsive during the week of closing. Any question my realtor had or I had were answered in minutes. My personal opinion is that Veterans United deals with too many accounts to give customers in the early/mid stages the attention they give customers in closing week. Go with a local bank. You'll likely have more success. This was my first home purchase, and my veteran sibilings had reccomended I use a local bank, but I went with what I thought was best. I wish I had listened to them.
Kody and his team went above and beyond for my family and I several times. Our house hunt lasted almost three years due to the economy and housing market, and after many setbacks and disappointments outside of VU’s control, Kody and his team stuck by my side through thick and thin. In the end, the same team that started our initial pre approval, took us to our closing. Beyond thankful for Kody, Andrea, Audrey and Heidi. Absolutely outstanding team and never once let us down.
I had a whole team. Ryan, Cristy, and Mason are who I connected with most and wow the communication to get things done was amazing. If someone was out of the office there was another person there to pick it up. Great team!
Every one on the team was very helpful even when I asked a million questions
I felt it was impossible to get a hold of people when I needed them the most..... I kept getting auto responses that my team was out of the office with out any sort of contact for someone to help while they were..... In the beginning it was great and I feel as soon as I told them I was happy they gave up and moved on to the next loan..... A lot of times I felt the lack of communication was very unprofessional and frustrating during a time I needed my team the most. Cedric was the only member of my team that I felt cared about my concerns and was willing to find me solutions..... I feel like everyone else only dealt with me to get me to leave them alone..... Almost felt abandoned at the end which is why I wouldn't recommend VU. At the beginning of making one of the biggest fancial decisions of my life I felt I was lead on and told I was going to experience the complete opposite of what I actually did experience. Very disappointed because a friend of mine did recommend VU and I believe we had very different experiences.
Response from Veterans United
Hey Bradley,
Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm sorry to hear that the level of communication and support you received didn't match the expectations set at the beginning of your loan process. Buying a home is one of the biggest financial decisions many people make, and it's understandable that feeling unable to reach your team when you needed assistance would be frustrating.
I'm glad to hear Cedric made a positive impact and helped address your concerns along the way. At the same time, I'm sorry you were left feeling unsupported and disappointed by the overall experience. We want every borrower to feel valued throughout the entire process, not just at the beginning.
I appreciate you taking the time to provide this feedback. If you'd like to discuss your experience further, please reach out to me at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
Rachel and her team had bent over backwards to help us get our home. They stayed with us for 3 years going through the process in finding and purchasing our house. I can’t thank them enough for their help. They are truly amazing!
Great experience.
Matt, Rae and their loan team were absolutely amazing throughout my home buying process. From start to finish, they were professional, knowledgeable, patient, and always willing to answer my questions. They made the process feel much less stressful by keeping me informed, explaining each step clearly, and making sure I understood what was needed along the way. I truly appreciated their responsiveness and commitment to helping me reach the finish line. Buying a home can feel overwhelming, but Matt and his team made me feel supported and confident throughout the entire experience. I am grateful for their hard work and would highly recommend Veterans United to anyone looking for a smooth, professional, and trustworthy home buying experience.
The process was smooth and moved along quickly
I was very satisfied with the speed and knowledge of the team at veterans United. There was an unusual situation with me as the Home had a solar lease. As far as I’m concerned, they figured it out and it didn’t hold up my closing and I was really impressed. Again I can’t thank them enough.
We had an absolutely outstanding experience with Veterans United Home Loans from start to finish. As first-time homebuyers, we expected the process to be stressful and confusing, but they made everything smooth, fast, and incredibly organized. The communication was top-notch the entire way through. We always had someone available to answer questions, explain the next steps, and keep us updated. It never felt like we were left wondering what was going on. Every person we worked with was professional, responsive, and genuinely cared about helping us succeed. What impressed us most was how efficiently they handled everything. Not only did they keep the process moving, they actually got us to closing THREE WEEKS EARLY. That kind of dedication and teamwork is hard to find.If you’re looking for a lender that communicates well, works quickly, and truly supports veterans and homebuyers throughout the entire process, we cannot recommend Veterans United highly enough. They exceeded every expectation we had.
Love the amount of help and reassurance I received while buying my family their first home! The connections with everyone at first was really overwhelming but everyone on the team has bee nothing but helpful and so patient with us making sure we were able to move into our home without issues.
Buying a house is extremely complicated, but Chris and his team were able to help me buy a house even under some extreme circumstances. I recommend Chris Holman and his assistant Marina anytime! The people that work at the VA aren’t just working for paychecks. they actually care!
Asli, Lauren, and Rae were outstanding! They were always quick to answer any questions I had and point me in the right direction if I felt lost. Would highly recommend!
