Overall, I would not recommend going through this headache unless you are a Veteran unable to come up with a down payment. Felt very little, if any, consideration or care about my Veteran status and even almost lost the house at one point due to a clerical error on Veterans Uniteds fault. Possibly they are handling too many cases at once to give enough attention to the Veterans, and assist them. Finally, the fact that a week after getting the house, my loan was passed off to a company that I've never heard of. I understand this is a general practice now, but I do not believe it is right or in the veterans best interest. This was the most disheartening thing. You work with someone who is "Veteran Friendly" and wants to help you get the loan, then they pass it off to someone else, who won't have that same attitude, I don't know/trust, and have never worked with before. The team even sent my "congratulations" t-shirt to the wrong house. The "5"s given in the rating system is me being generous. All in all, I'd like to make them lower, but I understand that I don't know everything on the other end that could be happening.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Matthew thank you for sharing this honest review. We apologize that our service did not provide the personalized experience you expected throughout the process. Your comments will help us ensure that we learn from mistakes and improve for the next customer. We value your business and hope you enjoy your new home.
I am so glad I went with Veterans United (VU) instead of xxxx. VU made the whole process simple, friendly, and timely.
Thank you Josh for all of your advice and suggestions during the process. Veterans United should be proud to have a stand up guy working on their team. Thank you. The only suggestion........Veterans United should test the knowledge of the Realtor for VA criteria for move in ready houses. This alone would speed up the process and create less stress for the Veterans applying. Thank you
This was an amazing buying experience and they were a big part of it. So glad this was my team and that I picked VU
During the whole home-buying process everyone I knew mentioned how difficult their process was and the best way to avoid the worst parts. I never had a major roadblock moment that wasn’t easily overcome by a quick phone call to my loan team. I would absolutely recommend Veterans United to any service member looking to buy a house.
I've bought 2 homes through Veteran's United and I love them. They are easy to work with.
Overall a great experience and quick.
Courtney Gilmore was also involved in the process and I also can't state enough how amazing and helpful she was too. She was incredibly informative and answered all my questions as best as she could. I do also greatly appreciate her help and anyone else in the loan process at Veterans United for their assistance.

I would absolutely recommend Veterans United as a whole, specifically Travis Ward's team. Buying a home as a first time buyer was definitely overwhelming at first but once the team set itself in motion, we almost never had to think about any of it alone. Every questions was answered immediately and we were never stressed about missing anything. Even after the home was purchased and everything was signed they still are helping us with our next steps! If you are looking to buy a home, whether it is your first or second, I would recommend VU 100%. There is absolutely a reason they show up as the #1 recommended home loan company for veterans.
Team was great! I will be using again and referring other vets
