VU team did excellent job with my financial support. Great job Brian
Easy to work with.
Blake was absolutely exceptional throughout the entire home-buying process. From our first conversation to closing day, he consistently went above and beyond to make sure everything stayed on track. His communication was outstanding—every call, email, and question was answered quickly, and he always took the time to explain things in a way that was easy to understand. What impressed me most was Blake’s professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care for helping veterans succeed. He never made us feel like just another loan file. Instead, he treated our home purchase like it was personally important to him and worked tirelessly to ensure we had the best experience possible. There were several moments throughout the process where Blake’s knowledge, responsiveness, and problem-solving skills gave us peace of mind. Buying a home can be stressful, but having someone like Blake in your corner makes all the difference. He was proactive, trustworthy, and always one step ahead.Because of Blake and the Veterans United team, my family was able to purchase our dream home with confidence. I cannot say enough good things about the level of service we received. If you’re a veteran looking to buy a home, ask for Blake—you won’t find a better loan officer. Thank you for everything you did for our family and for making this experience such a positive and memorable one.
Nick made me feel so safe going through this process. I have trust issues and I can be pretty pessimistic about things, but Nick was wonderful in explaining everything to me, giving me updates on the process at every stage. He really listened to my concerns and focused on allaying them. He was also very proactive preemptive, bringing up questions that I had but hadn’t been able to formulate and verbalize yet. He was kind and approachable without being the overly enthusiastic, over bearing “salesman” type. I could let my guard down.
Already have recommended to my sister
VU and Chris Hill have got me thru buying four homes throughout my military changes of station. They know me and my family and always come in clutch when I need them the most. They make a stressful life change as stress free as possible.

Experience first-hand why 370,533 homeowners give us a perfect score!
It would be a 10 if not for the high fees.
Great job, very thankful for the easy process to come to a positive resolution.
I had an excellent experience with both Tyson Smith and Lisa Shrum. I was ALWAYS treated as a 1st class customer. When I had questions or concerns, a response came same day. My loan is 15% of the purchase price, so not in the six figures. Never once was I treated like a number, and ALWAYS given good insight when I issues acquiring documents. Thank you for allowing me a loan. It is greatly appreciated.

Everyone at Veterans United helped us get through the process with not a lot of problems. Marlon and Levi were both awesome to us and our process
Shout out to Shelby''s team. I hope you guys get The best customer service award! You have my vote. For my first time homebuying experience, Man I was stressed...its the hugest purchase the average hard working American persues. I will definitely recommend to any veteran, and if and when the time comes , no doubt would do business again.
We were in dire straights, our home had mold and I am disabled from Iraq. We turned to an internet search and we found Veteran's United. We went from a hotel to air bnb, but the team was there with us throughout the wait. Their kind words kept me sane, and my mind at ease. They never said we can't or anything negative to us. Sometimes I thought they were Superheroes. I will sing their praises, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND them to all my Veteran friends, and once again for me and my wife Katrina, and daughter Peyton thanks for our GREAT home and new lease on life. I always use veterans united as my go-to lender. Derek Harmon and his team have always helped to make the process as smooth as possible. They see obstacles not walls and are great at problem solving. This is the second time I’ve worked with them and hold onto this specific team’s contact information for the future. If you’re going to use veterans united I recommend contacting Derek Harmon and his team.
They asked us several of the same documents, because they didn’t like the semantics of the other ones. Every time they told us that it would be the last document, it always had more. Our realtor and paralegal tried to reach out to them many times and we only got any answer after 5pm. We had a bunch of issues with the writing of our loan and we almost lost the house
I seemed to have stumbled with a lot of issues, needed to know more of the payments ahead maybe a height in awareness but it’s why some can shy away from business. Also some may not have the time for videos such as myself because one should know the military is always moving and barely gives breaks/time to review such information such as being overseas in my experience. Lastly the closing was a bit of a mess, my wife being on the paperwork was not ideal because she is not a citizen yet and I planned on doing the right paperwork after the fact.
Response from Veterans United
Hey Angel,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m sorry parts of the process felt frustrating and overwhelming, especially while balancing military life and being overseas. I understand how difficult it can be to find extra time to review videos or additional information during a move or transition.
I also apologize for the confusion and stress surrounding the closing process and paperwork involving your wife. Your feedback about communication and setting expectations is truly appreciated and helps us improve the experience for future borrowers.
If you’d like to talk more about your experience, please reach out to me at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
