Derek Harmon, Travis Crowley, and Megan Rector were my team, and to say they helped me would be a total understatement. Not only did they help me, but they understood my needs and frustrations. They answered every question I had from day one — they always had the answer. They were also always reachable by text and email, and I cannot emphasize enough how much of a relief that was for my already overwhelmed mind. Knowing they were just a text or email away to answer my concerns or doubts, and always in a timely manner, made all the difference.
I truly appreciate that people like this make the process feel painless. I know buying a home isn't easy — and for me it wasn't — but their willingness to help gave me a real sense of comfort throughout.
Thank you all for your help, from day one to closing day.-Best regards,

If i could go back in time i wouldn’t change a thing! Melissa Kunkel’s team and Veterans United were amazing to work with. Their experience and expertise was way above expectations, and they not only made us feel confident and comfortable buying a home, but they also made it SUPER EASY! 10/10
Cole Abram’s professionalism and expertise is outstanding. He made sure that I was taken care of. He kept in touch with me the whole time so I’m aware of very detail during my first home buying process.
Nick Gemming and Johnna Dunlap were the worst lenders I’ve ever seen made this whole process unbearable. Between the lack of communication (Johnna), lack of professionalism (Nick) and lack of job understanding. My major complaint is they waited until the week before my closing to do a 2year rental history, problem was both of my old complex had been sold off to different management. It too almost a weekend and a half for both apartments to send a zero balance. Then Nick was upset that I didn’t know an apartment I lived in two years ago sold management. I plan on reporting them both. Nick also said he was dealing with too many files at once, almost as to excuse his act.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Tiara,
I’m sorry this experience left you feeling frustrated and unsupported by your loan team. I can understand how stressful it was to be asked for rental history documentation so close to closing, especially when changes in property management made getting those records more complicated and time-consuming. Having that added pressure so late in the process would be frustrating.
I’m also sorry the communication and interactions you described added to an already stressful situation. You deserved clear explanations about what was needed, why it was needed, and what to expect as you approached closing.
I take this feedback seriously and would appreciate the opportunity to better understand what happened throughout your experience. Please reach out to me at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com so I can learn more.
Sincerely,

The service, follow up, knowledge and support was more than I ever expected during this process!
The team working on my loan was excellent. However the selling agent was not so helpful. I felt she was only wanting a fast commission and wasn’t concerned on my needs for the closing. The house was not cleaned per concession contract cleaned empty swept. I had to haul off a lot of trash and items they left. I only met the agent 2 times for a 10 minute look at the beginning showing and final walk through. She assured me the house would be professionally cleaned by seller. The house was dirty and I had to search for the keys in the house. She didn’t even reply to my msgs about the key hand over or about the housing being filthy dirty.
Response from Veterans United
HI Jeffery,
I’m glad to hear you had an excellent experience with your loan team, but I’m sorry the rest of your homebuying experience left you disappointed. Moving into a home that wasn’t in the condition you expected, along with difficulties getting answers about the keys and final details, understandably added frustration to an important day.
I’d appreciate the opportunity to learn more about what happened. Please reach out to me at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com.

I'm very glad I chose Veterans United to purchase my first home. The whole home buying process seemed very overwhelming but they somehow made it understandable in bite size pieces. I was super anxious and lost at the beginning and they held my hand at each step. With their insurance brokerage, I found cheaper auto, home, and flood insurance.
Even when things are quiet and you're wondering what's happening, they're working hard behind the scenes making things easy for you. Just know that the quieter things are, the more that's getting done. Great company to deal with and ready to work through any complicated issues for a great experience.
Veterans united made my refinance very easy . They were on top of things very professional great service.
