Melissa Kunkel was fantastic in all aspects from start to finish. She was very open to questions and if she didn’t know something, she’d get back to me when she’d figured it out. She even helped answer some questions and concerns while she was sick, so she was a real trooper! If I find myself back in the housing market, I’d want to work with her again for sure.

Our loan officer Melissa Kunkel and the rest of her team went above and beyond throughout our entire home-buying process. Since we’re a military family and couldn’t be there in person to ask questions and such, having a team that was so quick to respond and explain things made the biggest difference when it came to the buying process. We are an active duty military family and have bought in two other states and her and her teams help was hands down the best overall experience we’ve had when it came to buying a home. I am very grateful for the team that I had assisting me through my homeownership journey. Sheldon & Dustin made the process smooth & were very reliable. The communication between the entire team was amazing & I was kept in the loop every step of the way. I purchased my home while deployed during combat & they still made me feel at ease & educated/assured me throughout the entire ordeal. I used an online notary to appoint my power of attorney due to the lack of mailing capabilities at my location. My only reason for not making this a 10 out of 10 was due to my interest rate increase once I received my final closing disclosure. I was under the impression that my quoted rate was locked when it, in fact, was not. Either way, Sheldon reassured me that you "marry the home & date the rate" & that I can access the VA IRRRL in the future. I got preapproved early to gauge what I would be approved for & I was able to increase my preapproval amount after I paid some debt off. All in all, I am very pleased with being able to purchase my first home through Veterans United & I hope to work with Sheldon again in the future!
