I will be recommending Veterans United to everyone I meet who is looking to purchase a home.
Nicole Barber was so incredible. She answered calls for us even though we were in Alaska and there was a huge time difference. She was personable and friendly and super knowledgeable. Very grateful we got to work with her. She helped so much on the home buying process.
Paul and Bryan were outstanding, answering all our questions and guiding us through the purchase of our new home. We closed 10 days ahead of schedule and Bryan made sure everything was in order.

The only reason I gave a 9 instead of a 10 was die to being stood up at the very first house we wanted to look at by the realtor Veterans United assigned to me. After getting my own realtor everything was excellent.
Paul & Andrew were amazing and very patient with all the dumb questions I had for them. Good people to work with.
My loan team was great. Paul was on top of everything and kept me in the loop. He had all the answers to my questions and kept my expectations on what to expect with the mortgage process realistic.
Veterans United provided the best mortgage experience I have ever had, and I have purchased six homes to date. Veterans United made the process clear and guided me thru each step of the way. I strongly recommend Veterans United to any veteran seeking to use their benefits.
I thought everyone was beyond helpful going out of their way to help us. I truly thank all of my loan team. My only improvement was there was a little confusion when getting documents sent between me, the realtor, and the va. However thats to be expected we are all in different states different time zones we adapted to it.
Josh, Tyler and Abby were my team. Josh solid 8/10 sometimes hard to get ahold of but otherwise very knowledgeable and very professional. Tyler and Abby were the main problems -42/10 terrible terrible experience with them. Tyler couldn't find the address and put in no effort to find it. ALL of the research, digging and fact finding had to be done by the customer (me) just so we would close. Abby is a glorified cheerleader. She offered no help, screamed into the phone like it's cheer practice and didn't provide any insightful or meaningful input into the loan process AT ALL. Those 2 made the home buying process so stressful i almost went with another lender. Overall the only reason why we closed early was because I had to be a thorn in Veterans United side otherwise we would have not closed at all. I would recommend a different team or a different lender.
Response from Veterans United
Hey Michael,
Thank you for taking the time to share detailed feedback about your experience. I appreciate you recognizing Josh’s knowledge and professionalism, even while noting areas where communication could have been better.
I am very sorry to hear how stressful the process felt overall, particularly regarding communication and support during key moments. Buying a home should not leave you feeling like you had to carry the process on your own to get to the finish line. That is not the experience we aim to provide.
Your comments about responsiveness, coordination, and the level of guidance you received are important. I would value the opportunity to review your file and better understand what happened, including where expectations may not have been met.
If you are open to speaking further, please contact me directly at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. The Client Advocate team is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, and we typically respond the next business day to messages received after hours.
Thank you again for your candid feedback.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
