Ian was the most incompetent loan officer i have ever spoken to and worked with. Poor quality from start to finish. Before even speaking to Ian he sent me a loan estimate that was full of inaccurate information. He claimed he he did things on my behalf before asking me what I wanted. The fist issue was on the first loan estimate. He built it off the competitors who had me bringing money to closing. He said he did better by not putting that in the loan estimate. Which is not what I wanted. I told him it is my plan to being money to closing. Additionally he used data from my old loan over 3 years old. The taxes and insurance forms. Which were outdated and lower than they actually should be. I brought this to his attention and he stated he would fix it. However, he only adjusted taxes. He never asked for my current insurance and worked off the 3 year old document. I again brought it to his attention when he sent me the initial closing documents where insurance skyrocketed. he stated it was not a miscalculation and nothing was wrong. His error or laziness however it should be worded, ended up bringing my monthly payments up almost 40 dollars. If i had know there was a drastic change in insurance i would have shopped around early in the refinance process. When I brought this to his attention he stated he does this all the time and has 40 to 50 loans he is currently working on. This tells me he cares more for quantity than quality. Because of his willful ignorance I was forced to canceled the first date to sign closing documents. I needed time to find better priced insurance. When this happened I asked to speak to his supervisor and he refused. After the discussion and finding new insurance I reached out to speak to them again to state I was ready to sign closing documents. Before receiving the new closing documents I saw the loan amount had increased a significant amount, nearly 4 thousand dollars. I immediately reached out and ask what caused such a change and Ian told me I would be skipping 2 monthly payments instead of 1. I didnt ask nor want that. And i should have been consulted before a change like that was made. He claimed he would fix it and send me new closing documents. However, the document itself had two different amounts. The first page had the original amount that had 2 months of payments being skipped. And the 2nd page had only one month. It is one thing to disagree on what needs to be updated for proper loan estimate amounts. Its entirely different when this "expert" loan officer send me a document he expects me to sign with different loan amounts. I again in two separate emails requested to speak to his manager which he finally looped him in.Additionally, my second closing disclosure ended up being over $1,200 more than my first one. I received some additional lending credit from the manager. But when a loan officer makes so many mistakes I cancel my signing date. the additional $250 in lending credit is over a net negative $1,000 on my loan. I paid MORE money because of Ian's deficient work. Veterans Unted made money from me because of their employees mistakes.I should be happy and excited that I was able to refinance my house and bring my payments down. But Ian has made this entire experience the most frustrating and infuriating in my life. Poor performance poor quality from start to finish. Ian and the whole Veterans United team. Really did, let me down. Ian Reed and Veterans United was the wrong choice...
