Jake is a St. Louis native with a B.S. in Finance from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. He began his career with Veterans United as a Loan Specialist, serving Veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. That experience gave him a deep understanding of the VA Home Loan Benefit and prepared him for his role today as a Loan Officer—helping borrowers achieve their dreams of homeownership with confidence and care.
Jake is passionate about building trust and educating his borrowers so they feel comfortable and informed throughout the process. He strives to build lasting relationships and cares about Veterans as people—not just numbers. Although Jake hasn’t served himself, he finds great fulfillment in serving those who have. Inspired by his grandfather’s stories of the Navy during World War II, he carries that same sense of duty and gratitude into every loan he helps close.
Outside of work, Jake and his wife, Emily, love adventuring with their blended family of 5 girls and 1 boy (that poor boy!) and enjoy traveling in their camper, biking, kayaking, hiking, and cooking great meals together. Jake also serves at his local church, teaching Sunday school to 4th and 5th graders, where faith and community play an important role in his life.

Jake P. Was great to work with, he helped me get approved for what I wanted and always answered questions I had. Any issues we ran into during underwriting he took care of in a timely manner.
Our lender Jake was amazing very on top of everything and a caring person 10 out of 10 recommend
Thank you Jake and his team for helping me through my first home buying process. It was definitely less stressful because of Jake Pratt and I appreciate that. I would definitely recommend Veterans United to other veterans in the future.
You want to talk about nerve racking buying your first house... Jake at VU made it simple, seamless and went the extra mile with him and his team to make sure my family and I were taken care of. Not only that, they give sound advice and keep everything real and broke down Barny style, making home buying easy. We found ourselves in a home that didn't even feel possible before starting the process. Thank you to everyone at VU for supporting Veterans everywhere.
