Celina Mowrey
I was born in New London, CT right across the river from Groton, CT where my grandfather helped build the U.S.S. Nautilus as an Engineer with the U.S. Navy while my other grandfather fought in WWII with the Marines in the Pacific. Our family has deep military roots which continue with each generation. My connection to the military and the ability to serve those who serve our country is one of the reasons I enjoy working at Veterans United Home Loans. The other reason is that Veterans United is more than a business; it is a group of people who seek to make a positive impact on peoples' lives.
I graduated from the University of Missouri with a BS in Communication with an emphasis in Mass Communication. Although I've lived in Connecticut, Tennessee, and Southern Missouri, I call Columbia, MO home. When not helping retired and active duty military finance their homes, I enjoy biking on the MKT and spending time at home with my wonderful husband and three children.

The customer service of every Veterans United employee i spoke with was exceptional. We spent most of the days during the closing process on the road from Alaska to Michigan. Everything was taken care of for us and when we had to review documents it was easily done on the website.
Listen up, working in the military puts you at a faster pace. A lot of civilians don't understand our systems. Celena comes from a military family background, and she gets it. As a first sergeant in the Signal Corps with a high demand for efficiency and a can-do attitude, Celena's outstanding support saved me from getting so frustrated with the civilian systems' shortcomings. Bottom line up front (BLUF): She gets it, and she gets your item done.Use Celena’s services, save yourselves the headache, especially when you need attention to detail that will get your loan there. She may have a slightly higher charge than others; the charge is not comparable to the headache, and flash-bang other lenders promise you. Hey, I spent 26 years plus in the Army (be-all-you-can-be), and my troops respect and trust me. Be patient, send your documents, use nice words in your follow-ups, and she gets it done. Hey, this high speed got parents and grandparents in the military. She knows paperwork and understands that troops give a lot of their life and time to serve; that we deserve someone who listens; she listens and responds.
The team overlooked names on accounts related to closing cost funds, asked the same questions multiple times to which I had to respond with the same answers over and over. The team handling my loan seemed to be unorganized and not communicating well with each other.
Our team was phenominal. Everyone was fantastic.
