My name is David Smart and I started at VU in ‘21. The most rewarding aspect of my job here at VU is the opportunity to help Veterans, like my father (Navy) and brother (Marines), into homeownership. My upbringing brought me all over to places like Illinois, Florida, California, Arkansas & now I’m rooted here in St. Charles, Missouri. I am a graduate from Southeast Missouri State & that’s where I met my wife, Kristyn. After getting married in ’19 we welcomed our first daughter, Palmer, into the world. Our little family is rounded out by two very good rescue pups named Rafi & Chex. In my free time I enjoy landscaping, barbecuing, a good bourbon and watching my favorite sports teams.

Don't know where to start, my first phone conversation with David was like talking to your life long best friend. David always listened to my concerns and every time he explained why I didn't have to worry about my concerns he checked on me every week asking if I needed anything or had any questions. David pretty much walked this home buying journey with me from the beginning and it was such a relief knowing he was there any time of day or any day. I can't describe the feeling or satisfaction or the space or time lol to say how important David was to me and my family during this great home buying experience.
Above and beyond. Couldn’t ask for better. We had all of our stuff done to close extremely fast.
David stayed on top of things. Always checked to see if there was anything he could do. And he also spoke some financial jargon, which was cool. He knows his stuff.
