Meghan Buchert
Meghan was born and raised in Columbia, MO and graduated from Mizzou with a bachelor's degree & continued her education at Maryville University with a Master in Business. After spending several years working in the finance field for a small insurance company, she took her talents to Veterans United as a mortgage loan officer. In August of 2012 Meghan took her dog Truman on a flight across the ocean for a 14 month adventure working at the Veterans United Home Loans of Hawaii branch, but is currently back at the Columbia, Missouri location.

As a first-time homebuyer, my experience was okay overall, but the communication needs serious improvement. The support team did well, but the loan officer made the process stressful. I was rushed, brushed off when asking questions, and even blamed for delays. My realtor and insurance agent also struggled to get responses, as calls and emails often went unanswered. On top of that, a family emergency I communicated was disregarded, and I was told I wouldn’t get the house if tasks weren’t finished—yet no clear deadlines or explanations were given. Overall, the lack of professionalism and communication made this process much harder than it needed to be
