Ryan Mason is a VA loan expert here at VU. Ryan started out working for outdoor recreation companies while volunteering for charities that helped wounded Veterans before deciding to work for VU and help Veterans achieve the dream of home ownership. He was born in California and raised in St. Louis, Missouri before moving to Columbia for school and his first career. Ryan can always be found outdoors enjoying nature when he isn't in the office, usually with his family and friends. Be it hunting, fishing, traveling, or water sports, he is always trying to enjoy the outdoors.

AMAZING,AMAZING,say it over and over a gain thousnd of times, and you would not come close to showing, how these workers,,these angels from heavon, have more faith in us then we do ourself, they beleive in our dreams along with us ,they make beleivers out of us if they can not fullfill our dreams no one can thank you.
Loan Officer was difficult to reach several times. Sent me loan estimate before closing without explanation of cash needed to close. Had to call several times to get a clear explanation. Later on my to do list were instructions to liquidate my retirement savings, which is something I had never discussed with anyone at Veterans United, was entirely unnecessary, and I had to ask it to be removed from my to do list. In the two weeks leading up to closing date, I emailed my loan officer twice to make sure closing was ready to go, cash to close was clear. On the day of closing, and on my way to the title company, loan officer called me and said he had not updated my paperwork, and that I would not be able to close that day, and instead would need over $35k in cash to close! Or wait 72 hours and then close! I had emailed twice on the past two weeks and he had acknowledged our plan and that cash would not be needed to close! In the end, he somehow managed to correct the paperwork the same day and we closed same day. But what a terrible experience all the way through.
As a Veteran, I see no reason why anyone who has served would not take advantage of Veterans United! We were treated so well by the entire team! They even took our worried calls on the weekend lol. Home buying is always stressful but the team headed by Ryan was an absolute pleasure to work with and went above and beyond and were always honest and upfront with any information be it good or bad. I would definitely recommend them to anyone that is eligible!!
