Super nice guy. Seems to genuinely care about helping veterans. I was also pretty impressed by his availability whenever I had questions or concerns.

While Steve was always polite and friendly in tone, my biggest issue was the lack of clear and consistent communication. From the beginning, I expressed that I strongly preferred email so I could track details in writing. Despite this, almost all of his responses came as voicemails, even when I specifically requested email replies. This made the process more stressful than it needed to be and left me feeling unheard.I was also sent multiple versions of the same documents without clear explanation, which caused unnecessary confusion. At one point, I was asked to re-verify my employment just two days before closing. For a first-time homebuyer, it would have been extremely helpful if Steve had outlined what to expect ahead of time—what documents would be needed, when they would arrive, and how to prepare.Friendly demeanor aside, I needed proactive guidance and reliable communication, but instead I had to constantly chase clarity. A loan officer should make the process easier for a new homeowner, not harder.
