Cara was born in Columbia, MO, and lived in Ft. Riley, KS, Ft. Campbell, KY, and in Kaiserslautern, Germany (K-Town). She moved back to her hometown in 2014 to be closer to her parents, five brothers, three nephews, and her niece.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling the world — most recently to Thailand, Bali, Cuba, Croatia, France, and Honduras. Weekends find her up to her knuckles in garden soil or curled up on her screened-in porch with a good book or sharing big laughs with her family and friends.
