Derek did his job and he would let you know how hard he was working for you and how hard his job is. He would not set up a a time to plan for a call or meeting, he would call at his leisure which wasn't ideal for me the customer. During these conversations he would often talk over me in both words, tone and volume. I didn't fee like a respected client one bit. He would often question things I would tell him and he felt I was lying. I don't like my integrity questions. I just don't believe it is his place and is poor customer service. When I asked what documents I would need, it was crickets, Then I would get a todo list of 8+ things. He blamed me for getting an insurance quote that held up the closing by one week. The quote was 1/2 the price Veterans United Insurance quote. When I asked him things were this way or that way he would just tell me, "that is the way it has to be for a VA Loan." Which later I found out that not to be true, but that is the way it needed to be with Veterans United. I found other VA loan venders that didn't mandate the escrowing of hazard insurance for instance. I may do business again with Veterans United but not with Derek Parnell.
