Buying a house is a painful long process, more than I thought it would be. Veterans united walked me through it all, and got me the best deal available. Excellent service.
Everything about out loan process was poorly done. At the start they should have asked for my husbands COE for his VA loan for preapproval. They instead didn’t ask for it until a week to close. This caused us to miss our closing date. We are first time buyers and didn’t know all the questions to ask. We repeatedly asked what else was needed and were told nothing, only to be asked for more later. A checklist at the start would have been much more productive. After switching to an FHA loan we experienced the same problem. Again would have missed our closing date if we hadn’t found Sarah. There were so many resources we weren’t given, questions we weren’t given correct answers to all which could have avoided a most of this. We felt continually pushed aside by Jake and his team. I would never again trust him or his team.
Response from Veterans United
Hi James,
I’m really sorry to hear how frustrating and discouraging this process was for you. As first-time homebuyers, you should have felt clearly guided from the very beginning, especially when it came to important items like a Certificate of Eligibility and understanding what would be needed for preapproval.
Learning that documents were requested late in the process and that it impacted your closing date is concerning. Being told nothing else was needed, only to later be asked for more, would understandably make you feel unprepared and stressed. You deserved clearer expectations and better communication throughout.
I’m also troubled to hear that you felt pushed aside. That’s never how anyone should feel during such an important milestone. I truly appreciate you sharing this feedback, and I would welcome the opportunity to review your experience more closely.
I’m here to listen and would welcome a direct conversation. You can reach me at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. Our team is available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST, with after-hours messages returned the next business day.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
