Like many others who work here at Veterans United, I'm from a small town in rural Missouri. We have a growing family, and enjoy the benefits of living in a small community. In my leisure time I go hunting and fishing with my kids, and we love to attend all types of college and professional sporting events. I started my financial career in banking, and I began my mortgage lending career in 2012. Here at Veterans United Home Loans I have found it most rewarding to serve those who have served our country, and I appreciate every opportunity to earn the trust of our Veteran borrowers.

Kris and his team was an absolute pleasure to work with. Made the process really easy especially as a first time home buyer. 10/10 recommend

Maybe I’m wrong, but I expected more from a company with the name “Veterans” United. There are several other companies that I learned of closer to my closing date that offer things that this company did not. Overall it wasn’t a bad process and for the most part the staff responded relatively quickly. Bottom line recommendation, I’d do my research before committing any to a lender. As a veteran we’ve earned any and all benefits, discounts, etc…

Response from Veterans United

Hi Christopher,

I appreciate you taking the time to share this and I hear where you’re coming from. When someone sees the word “Veterans” in our name, it comes with high expectations, especially around benefits and value, and I’m sorry if it felt like we fell short of what you hoped for.

I’m glad to hear the process itself wasn’t a bad one and that our team stayed responsive, but I understand how learning about other options late in the process can be frustrating. You’re absolutely right that veterans have earned every benefit available to them, and it’s important that you feel confident and informed about your lender choice.

If you’re open to it, I’d really like the chance to learn more about your experience and see if there’s any additional context or support we can provide. Our Client Advocate team is here to listen and help however we can. You can reach us at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We’re available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, and messages outside those hours are typically returned the next business day.

Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
