Rachel is passionate about helping Veterans and Service Members achieve their goal of home ownership. She is an Air Force brat, whose father retired after 20 years served, so the military holds a special place in her heart. Before coming to Veterans United, Rachel lived in Phoenix, AZ, where she was a manager of a family owned jewelry store for 6 years. In 2016, her and her fiancé decided to move to Columbia, MO after welcoming their son, Parker, to be closer to family. Outside of work, Rachel loves the outdoors, and taking adventures with her family and friends any chance she gets.

Home buying can be stressful especially when you’re juggling regular life with a bunch of kids. Understanding the lending process let alone a VA Loan was a lot of work (for me). Veterans United made the process simple and my loan officer, Rachel was outstanding! Made the process simple. Clearly communicated every step of the way. And fought for our best interests when the seller was committed to their own best interests. I’d recommend Rachel and Veterans United in a heartbeat.
Would and have been telling everyone about my great experience with Veterans United
All the veteran united team were awesome
For my 1st home refinance, this was a NIGHTMARE!!! And I'm not the Veteran, My Husband is. The added stress from this what should have been a slam dunk REFINANCE, UNACCEPTABLE for OUR VETERANS!!! From confusing phone calls, texts, submitting same documents more the 3 times, lied to about closing dates, even at closing the paperwork wasn't accurate! Get your shit together! Very DISAPPOINTED! Especially because of the name they use!!!
Response from Veterans United
Hi Thomas,
I’m really sorry to hear how stressful and frustrating this refinance experience was for you and your family. What should have been a straightforward process clearly fell short, and I understand how repeated document requests, unclear communication, and inaccurate timelines would be incredibly upsetting.
I also hear how important this is given your family’s connection to a Veteran. That trust means a lot, and I’m sorry we didn’t live up to it here.
I’d truly like the opportunity to look into what happened and better understand where things broke down, especially around communication and closing expectations. If you’re open to it, please reach out to me directly at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com.
Our team is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday, and we’ll follow up as soon as possible if you reach out outside those hours.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
I have worked with veterans united for years, and I am not only thankful for the individuals I have worked with, but their willingness to see progress through on my behalf - thank you each for your dedication!
Rachel Gruber was phenomenal and I highly recommend her. Even though our real estate, underwriting and title teams left us very frustrated, she was consistently amazing. She’s the reason I would recommend Veterans United to anyone else because I believe our experience is a rarity and that they are wanting to correct problems that arise. She’s enthusiastic and willing to correct issues after the sale which shows integrity and compassion. Truly exceptional.
First and foremost, Thank you all! Second, I'm glad it's over! At 55, this is my first home purchase. The first home I went under contract with was not so great, but I lay the blame on a shifty seller and an even shiftier seller's agent! Lesson learned. Regroup and got it done right the very next house with a new agent (Christi) I believe picked by Nicki & facilitated by Nicki & Rachel. In the end you all got me into the home I wanted so thank you!
Everyone was informative and readily available.
