Sam Yoo
I was born in Seoul, South Korea and moved to the United States when I was two years old. My parents were the typical immigrants who came to America to give me and my brother a better life in a country with endless opportunities. I grew up in Independence, MO and actually went to high school with Major League Baseball's phenomenon, Albert Pujols, who currently plays for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. I attended the University of Missouri and graduated with a B.S. in Biology. I have been with Veterans United Home Loans since 2008.
When I'm not at work, I enjoy playing poker, traveling, watching sports, and just hanging out with my friends. I started playing poker way before the poker craze and one of my dream jobs would be to play professionally. I love to travel and visit friends all across the country. My goal is to travel somewhere new every year, foreign and domestic. My favorite teams to watch are the Kansas City Chiefs and my Alma mater, the Missouri Tigers. I usually have a friend right there with me to share and enjoy every experience.

This is our 2nd time purchasing a home with Veterans United. They were always in communication with us and made themselves available even on weekends. Their “To-Do” list helped us keep track and focus on what we needed to be working on and where we were in the overall process, which helped tremendously lessen the feeling of being overwhelmed for those of us with anxiety. I (spouse of Veteran) have purchased a home in the past and that experience was chaotic and had me on an emotional roller coaster for almost 2 months. The process with Veterans United was right at a month from entering into a purchase agreement to closing. Too many positive differences between my two home buying experiences. I will always recommend Veterans United!! A++++I also wanted to share my experience with Jamie Milholland, Senior Credit ConsultantShe helped me (spouse) increase my credit score to be able to qualify to be on the loan with my husband. He has great credit, me not so much. She looked at my credit reports and we came up with a plan to increase my scores. She checked in with me weekly at first and at the end of the month we checked my credit score and made any adjustments needed to continue to increase my credit. February 27th-April 1st my credit score went from 580 to 628. She was nonjudgmental regarding my past financial mistakes and focused on helping me get where I needed to be. As of May 1st my credit score is 640 and it just continues to increase as I continue to implement her plan. If it wasn’t for Jamie we not have been able to include me on the mortgage.
