Alexis Benson and Ty Reece were great to work with!
The buying process is smooth and simple. Biggest issues that arise are not from VU at all, but the requirements made for home buying. Still not a big issue if the seller is willing to work with the Veteran buyer. My biggest complaint is the phone system itself. Getting to a rep is hard enough, but it does seem that there is an issue with coherence across the board for the techs. It took almost a full year of working with at least 12 different people to get my mortgage back on track from missing one payment and cost hundreds of dollars in fees that I was mandated to pay, which should not have fallen on me as I did my best to work with the program but it was never followed through with.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Richard,
I appreciate you sharing both sides of your experience. It’s encouraging to hear the buying process felt smooth overall, and I’m grateful you pointed that out. At the same time, what you described afterward sounds incredibly frustrating.
Trying to get your mortgage back on track after one missed payment should not feel like a year-long uphill battle. Speaking with multiple representatives, struggling to reach someone through the phone system, and feeling like follow-through did not happen would wear on anyone. I can understand how the added fees would only make that situation more upsetting.
I would really like the opportunity to review your servicing experience in detail and better understand what happened. Please reach out to me directly at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We’re available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday, and we’ll respond the next business day if you contact us after hours. I’d value the chance to look into this personally.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
Such wonderful people! Always so helpful and comforting through what can often be, a scary and overwhelming process! Any questions we had were always answered in a timely manner and we never felt like we "should" know the answer. I strongly recommend Ty Reese and Alyssa Schneiders! They took us through the process with no tears shed! It was a relatively short process compared to others I've been through. They did it all and kept us apprised of the status at each step along the way. If we ever do this again, they will be our first call!
They made the home buying process super easy. Shout out to the entire team of people behind helping getting me approved. Started searching and closed within a 3 week period.
Everything was easy and outstanding service
Outstanding service
Veterans United made my homebuying experience exceptional. Their communication was fast, clear, and consistently helpful. The entire process, from understanding each step to completing digital signatures, was seamless and stress‑free. The online tools were intuitive, everything worked flawlessly, and my team (Alexis, Alex, and Ty) was always there to ensure I fully understood what was happening. I couldn’t imagine a smoother process or better support, and I’m extremely happy with my rate. Truly outstanding service all around. They will be my go to service in the future.
