This process started out is only a dream. I made a simple phone call from a Google search and ended up with Veterans United, Alberto and his team. What a God send. It is amazing and I am astounded at how smooth they really make the process. Along every single step they knew exactly what they were doing. The smallest of details were taken care of by their team. Veterans have enough to deal with with many returning from war, deployment, and time away from their families. It’s comforting to know that there’s a company out there that looks out for their well-being. Unfortunately, 10 is the highest grade you can grade someone on their scale, in our opinion, they deserve a much higher score. They took a dream and turned it into a reality, and for that we will be forever grateful. I could not recommend this team higher. Thank you Alberto, and your entire staff for not only making us feel like family, but taking our dream and turning it into a reality. God bless you.

i found it seemed more like defending myself in a court of law rather then borrowing money to by a home , way to many people involved and for sure to many questions , i received my loan but had a lot of heat burn along the way.

Response from Veterans United

Hey Richard,

I’m really sorry to hear how overwhelming this process felt for you. Buying a home should feel exciting, not like you’re being put through an exhausting or stressful back-and-forth. I can understand how dealing with multiple people and being asked so many questions could start to feel frustrating and even discouraging.

While there are times when additional questions are needed to complete a loan, that shouldn’t come at the cost of making you feel uncomfortable or worn down. It’s important that communication feels clear, respectful, and supportive throughout the process, and I’m sorry that wasn’t your experience.

I appreciate you sticking through it to closing, but I regret that it came with what you described as “a lot of heat burn” along the way. I’d really like the opportunity to learn more about what happened and see where we could have done better.

If you’re open to it, please reach out to me directly at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. The Client Advocate team is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday, and we’re happy to follow up the next business day if you contact us after hours.

Overall, I had a positive experience working with Veterans United for my home purchase in Chicago. The team handled the VA loan requirements and appraisal efficiently and I appreciated the clear communication regarding the conditional approval and final clear to close. However, there were a couple of minor issues. I experienced some communication delays around some questions regarding my mail forwarding and the final cash to close was significantly higher than the initial estimate provided by the lender, which felt abnormal and was a bit of a surprise at the end. Despite these hurdles, the team ensured we stayed on track for a successful closing.
