I was initially pre-approved for a mortgage amount, which led me to believe the financing for my home purchase was secured. Based on this approval, I proceeded with finding a home for that amount the transaction, including paying a due diligence fee to the seller, incurring various other upfront closing costs, and giving notice to end my current lease. I was initially told an affordable closing amount.Approximately two weeks prior to the scheduled closing date, I was informed that my income had been mistakenly inflated, by them, during the pre-approval process. This error presented a difficult choice:1. Terminate the purchase agreement, which would have resulted in a financial loss of nearly $10K in non-refundable fees.2. Proceed with the purchase by providing a significantly higher cash-to-close amount, which is what I ultimately did.Compounding this significant issue was the deterioration of communication with Kedric and his team. They became exceptionally difficult to contact, with my calls frequently going to voicemail or being fielded by assistants who were unable to resolve my concerns. The explanations for Kedric's unavailability were typically vague, citing meetings or personal emergencies. My real estate complained this to me also, saying he's never dealt with a loan officer that can only be reached by texting. The lack of communication and unresolved issues ultimately caused my initial closing date to be missed. After spending the entire day at the closing appointment, I was told a last-minute issue had arisen, necessitating a one-day postponement. Throughout this critical delay, I was only able to reach Kedric's voicemail.
