I cannot say enough about Matt and his team! They were the highlight of the entire home-owning process, providing consistent, quick communication every step of the way. Matt and his team answered all of our questions and truly advocated for our needs. Veterans United respected us as people, not just an account or number. We recommend them to everyone!

I am disappointed in Veterans United after half a dozen transactions in the last decade. Congrats on the quickest close for a botched transaction. These newbies need to understand that salespeople in The Villages are not held to the same standards as realtors. They are predatory. I do not want another veteran to end up in this situation. Highway rest stops are built with more environmental protections in place than 1978 Lockett Lane, situated along the Florida Turnpike and rattled with noise, truck, bus & vehicle emissions, etc. There are not enough trees planted to absorb any of it.

Response from Veterans United

Hi Robert,
I’m really sorry to hear how disappointing this experience was, especially after working with Veterans United multiple times over the years. I understand why this feels like a letdown, and I hear how strongly you feel about protecting other veterans from going through something similar.

I also want to acknowledge your concerns about the property itself. VA appraisals are limited to assessing value and basic safety at face value, and they don’t account for factors like long-term noise, environmental conditions, or surrounding emissions. That’s why a separate home inspection is so important, though I know that doesn’t lessen how frustrating this outcome feels now.

I’d appreciate the opportunity to better understand what happened and hear more about your concerns. If you’re open to it, our Client Advocate team can be reached at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We’re available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST.

Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager

Thank you to all on the team. You’re all phenomenal! As much as I never want to buy another house ever again…because, well, moving stuff ;) I’ll be back if the event ever occurs again. Thank you!!
