I’m originally from St. Louis, Missouri, and a lifelong fan of St. Louis and Mizzou sports. I served on active duty in the Marine Corps from 2003 to 2008, deploying in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from late 2006 to early 2008. After returning home, I transitioned out of the Marine Corps to pursue my education at the University of Missouri.
During my time at Mizzou, I remained deeply involved in organizations advocating for veterans' rights. As I neared graduation with a Bachelor of Science degree, I discovered Veterans United—a company that allowed me to provide for my family while continuing to serve the veteran community.
It was during my time at Mizzou that I met my wife, Jessica, an Air Force veteran. Together, we have three incredible children—our daughter, Makayla, born in August 2012, and our identical twin boys, Alex and Mattis, born in April 2014.
When I’m not helping veterans achieve their dream of homeownership, I dedicate all my free time to my family.

Nick made me feel so safe going through this process. I have trust issues and I can be pretty pessimistic about things, but Nick was wonderful in explaining everything to me, giving me updates on the process at every stage. He really listened to my concerns and focused on allaying them. He was also very proactive preemptive, bringing up questions that I had but hadn’t been able to formulate and verbalize yet. He was kind and approachable without being the overly enthusiastic, over bearing “salesman” type. I could let my guard down.
Nick and his entire team are truly exceptional and I'd recommend them to all that have served! They made the entire process easy and are always very responsive and helpful with any questions you may have.
Love the opportunity to work with so many wonderful people. Would definitely recommend. Everyone went out of the way to help in this process, and they were very open to getting to know who me and my family and our plans for the home we now have!
Second time using veterans united. They are the best team ever.
This was my second time buying a home with Nick and his team. There assistance is always welcome and they make this process so easy.
Listen. If you are serious about owning a home, Veterans United is definitely a preferred option, in my opinion. The steps it took to purchasing our home was frustrating to say the least. In my wife and I case, we were purchasing from our landlord, so a realtor wasn't necessary. However, gathering the necessary documents, coordinating with the different agencies like appraisals, home inspections, insurance, title company, and loads of paperwork, signatures, and questions are still very much a part of the process. Our team, Nick Holman, Courtney Gully, Francie Greene, and the rest of their supporting members were there from the first phone until the closing on our home. They fielded every question, listened to all of our frustration, guided us through the whole process step by step, and we're encouraging, patient, professional, and, most of all, very polite, friendly, and engaging whenever we were in contact with them. I mean they kept in touch by phone, text, and email. Even sent us mail. Who does that in this technology age? Seriously, they were the best team my wife and I could ask for in communicating with us and our landlord to make this dream a reality!! I highly recommend Veterans United to anyone who’s reading this review, or anyone who asks is this company for real. To our team, Nick Holman, Courney Gully, Francie Greene, and their supporting team members, thank you for everything! We can't say thank you enough. My wife, Valencia Long, and I now own our home!!!
