Veterans United Employee Shane Lowe

Shane Lowe

I am a father of three beautiful children, Harper, Channing, Scout and we are expecting another addition to the family in September. My wife Brittney also has the amazing opportunity of being a part of the Veterans United family. We are a family that loves our sports teams, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Minnesota Vikings. We love to be outside, particularly the swimming pool and BBQ’s with friends and family. I grew up in central Missouri, in a small town called New Bloomfield. My family, mom, dad, brother, and sister all served active Army, something I am very proud of. I went a different route out of high school; I was fortunate enough to have been drafted by the Colorado Rockies and played four years of minor league baseball. I then finished my degree at a small school, Central Methodist University. I was hired here at VU and have never looked back.

Shane has been such a reliable friend during our challenging contract talks, always looking out for what’s best for us and making sure we get the best deal possible. My husband and I are so happy with how things turned out, and we’d definitely suggest Shane to anyone we know.

Derrick was great and Shane also kept a professional manner with any of my questions.

Closed 2 weeks late. Most documents sat in limbo. Communication from underwriting, the loan coordinator and anyone in between was terrible. No updates unless we reached out to them. It took weeks for documents to show up because both seller and buyer agents and our loan team were not in constant communication until after the closing date. This process costs me thousands of dollars while I had to afford temporary living because of the very late closing date. This was the worst home buying experience I've ever had.

Response from Veterans United

Hi Donavan,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I'm sorry to hear about the delays and communication issues you experienced throughout your homebuying process.

I understand how frustrating it must have been to wait for updates, feel like documents were stalled, and experience a closing that occurred weeks later than expected. When a delay affects moving plans and creates additional living expenses, it can add significant stress to an already important milestone. I'm sorry that this experience left you feeling disappointed and unsupported.

I'd like the opportunity to learn more about what happened and review your concerns. Please contact me at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. The Client Advocate team is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, and messages received outside those hours are typically returned the next business day.

Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager

Response from Veterans United

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I'm glad to hear that Emily made a positive impression on you. At the same time, I'm sorry that other parts of your experience left you feeling frustrated.

I understand how stressful it can be when important items arise close to closing, especially when you're trying to coordinate employment documentation, review updated disclosures, and complete signing on time. When communication feels rushed or it's difficult to reach the right person for answers, it can add unnecessary frustration to an already stressful process. I'm sorry that your experience left you feeling unsupported.

I'd appreciate the opportunity to learn more about your concerns and discuss your experience further.
