I would say my experience working with Veterans United was subpar.Being a first time home buyer is stressful enough, but sometimes not having clear instructions and having to go through so many tasks, made it worse.Though there were reasons that we had to keep pushing back the closing, such as the birth of my son, the winter weather, etc, however, this process took entirely too long to complete.We had to have our house appraised twice, we had to have THREE pest inspections, all of which cost money, the amount of items that we needed to upload, get approved, etc was just insane.I don’t feel as though there was any benefit at all to using my VA home loan other than potentially not having to put a down payment down, but even at that, the numbers in today’s economy are insane.Towards the end when we were going back and forth with our loan officer about potentially putting money towards buying down some points, it was so confusing. There were so many different figures given, I feel as though I was talked to like I wasn’t understanding them however, they were the ones not understanding my questions.I do know there are things out of my control and their control, such as interest rates, etc however, it over all was stressful and not a fabulous first time home buying experience.

We are first time homebuyers, the entire team from Erique to Chris to Lisa and Sabrie and everyone else has been so incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. They constantly checked in to make sure we understood the process and answered any questions we may have had. Buying a home is definitely not easy but the team with VU made it simple for us and took care of all the hard work. I would most definitely recommend VU and would work with them again in the future.
