I think that the problem we hit, (we had just submitted an amended return for taxes,) is a one-off issue. However, in attempting to overcome the problem I was struck that it seemed if we coudl not DOCUMENT for the file, what the IRS was saying, it was not good enough.Everyone knows that the IRS will give some information but will not always put it into a document that give all of the particulars. For instance, VU asked me to get some sort of documentation from the IRS that showed I had amended my return and that they were in receipt of it. The IRS person on the phone was able to tell me he see's the amended return I submitted, and that it was in processing, but was NOT allowed to put that in writing. Also, there is a webpage at IRS gov that shows the status of the amendment, but no one page showed my entire SSN, status, and amount due. Finally, the amendment I submitted was recalculated and a new total was given to me. The underwriters at VU insisted that I pay THAT total in full immediately. They did not seem to understand that the common process is this:1. Submit Amendment.2. IRS recalculates3. I accept or submit my own recalculation4. Finally, a number is agreed upon and I can either:a. Make paymentsb. get a 120 day extensionc. make an offer in compromise.Any of these options is very acceptable to the IRS and they are my option. An Underwriter should accept a written note that says I will adequately resolve the FUTURE bill once the IRS and I agree on a solution! I felt pressured to make bad business choices by an underwriter, who was not able to just LOG IN to the IRS website, with my credentials, to see that the IRS had a status for my account.Since the IRS is unlikely to ever change the way THEY do things, I think it woudl be good for VU to establish some IRS processes that overcome the short-sightedness of ONLY accepting a one-sheet document with all of the IRS info on it.Chris and Emily were FANTASTIC!
They overall were very well organized. I had a great experience working with them and now live in a very nice home. Thanks

There was a couple issues at closing and I would hope things like that could have been avoided. Other than that the experience was good.

Not piece meal documents, very frustrating towards end of loan. Better communication with underwriters, double check loan processor's work. Loan processor ordering the VA appraisal at the wrong house set us back over 2 weeks. Realtors were not happy about that.
