The amount of paperwork required for a loan is excessive. We had to prove our home/mortgage on our vacation home 3x. That's excessive. Recommend the underwriter's know what they need prior to 24 hours before settlement. It is beyond frustrating to get last minute calls/emails to provide the same documentation previously provided.

Time management. I did all of the VA leg work for them. Literally spending over 100 hours of my personal time to accommodate their deficiencies. And on the day of the close, the lender had the loan amount incorrect. What's and extra 5 hours on the final day of the process....frustrating. My time is valuable and VUHL should recognize that with not just me but all of their "customers."
Better communication with team members
Everything needs to move quicker
There were to many people involed in our loan. This cause great stress. Seemed like we had to do alot of the work for the loan to go through.
Time efficiency could be improved. Our appraisal process was in my opinion inefficient. After receiving the short sale approval, it took a while to get an appraiser out to the property while we were on a very tight time schedule, trying to get it done before the approval expired. VUHL also missed one of the required repairs on the appraiser's report that needed to be done prior to closing until the very last minute, requiring us to scramble to get it done. I hope that this type of thing doesn't occur often.
They could try to communicate with the veteran, who wants this to go as smoothly as possible. Don't wait till the end of the day to tell us we need something sent again, let us know asap so it can be taken care of and we don't lose a day, or in our case several days do to delays in information. Let the veteran help as much as they can, give us a list and we'll complete it not all vet's have problems following instructions..
