Although my experience with my loan officer was a great experience, some of the required documentation requested by the underwriters were redundant and a waste of time. I am an active duty military member so I was asked to provide a statement of intent for reenlistment as well as a statement of service from my command. The day before I was expected to close on my home, I was asked to provide an additional letter from the VA or my command stating that initiating a VA claim would not have a negative impact on my reenlistment. My command and the Va declined to provide this letter due to the redundancy of effort on their behalf. After the underwriters talked with my command personally, I closed on my home two days after my expected close date.
I am so thankful for the team that I had with Veteran's United. They were outstanding and I never felt like I was a burden. I am a first time home buyer so I had plenty questions. The team always responded promptly and I was never hesitant to maintain correspondence. Veteran's United has helped me gain faith in the home buying process and will continue to work with VU in the future.
