There needs to be better coordination between the different VUHL departments. Although many are separate for a reason (such as auditing) there were instances where one didn't know what the other was doing. A tighter internal schedule coordination would probably help. Our loan officer had a very good attitude, but he was repeatedly appologizing for someone else. One embarrassing example was during settlement... the closing package was released by VUHL, we closed, but the funds were not released from VUHL until many hours later (the funds were held up due to a missing employment verification update, but we did not know it). This should have never happened. I signed my commitments, but did not keep them... very embarrassing.

Great overall
I think there could be more education on interest rates and how they affect the home buying process. I also feel that an exact easy to follow guideline of all of the steps in the loan process would be very beneficial. It felt like we were always learning about new things that had to take place before the loan could close.
better ways of everyone getting on the rite page between everyone that is processing the loan
I would just make sure in the future that all the required documents needed are told at the beginning. The only thing that was a bit frustrating is that I would give something requested and it was not what was actually needed. My loan officer was helpful and getting a realtor assigned was the best choice I made.!!

I would advise that VU do some serious training when it comes to underwriting and communication between underwriters and loan originators. I had the worst experience dealing with my home loan and most of that falls squarely on the shoulders of your underwriters. The other disconnect is either a lack of communication with loan originator, or outright bad information coming from underwriters.
