When a customer tells you, you are committing tax fraud and even tells you how to fix it. Might be a good idea to listen. Also when the Escrow Officer tells you the same thing it also might be good to listen. Then even more so when the County Assessors office tells you yet again the same thing you might want to change what you are doing. I was good up till I found the taxes were being configured wrong. All above told her this as well as myself. The problem was she insisted the taxes on the property had to be listed as non-homestead on the paperwork, this was not the case as the property was already homesteaded and would remain so and be transferred to myself once the loan was closed. After the yelling fit my loan officer got into with me and I called to verify all these people told her the same thing I called back and told her what she was doing was a direct violation of Michigan RESPA she still didn't want to change it to the way it should of been. I had to threaten cancelling to whole deal before she would change the paperwork to reflect the right information, then required me to sign an affidated saying if the taxes were non-homesteaded then I would be responsible for it. If I would have let the paperwork go through the way they were your company would have taken about 800.00 dollars more from the sellers then was supposed too which would of been grounds for them to take your company to court over. I was trying to help you in that aspect, also it made my monthly payment reflect over 140.00 more a month I would have to pay. I was very disappointed after all the info I gave explaining it she still wouldn't do it the right way. My realtor which works with your company all the time has never had the taxes be an issue before she didn't understand why she made it such an issue either.
I feel that when the interest is shown in the beginning like it was for me, that maybe when the loan officer is assisting, he/she can tell the interested party that the entire process may take up to two months. I have refinanced a house more than once, and I just don't remember it taking two months from beginning to end. I know things have changed, but it would still be a nice thought, as I was thinking all along "geez, how much longer is this going to take?" I also feel that communication could/can be a little better. When the packets are sent to the interested party in email, and it shows all the breakdowns, figures, adjustments, etc., maybe the loan officer can give a courtesy call to explain what all of this means. If this were done sitting down at a table, this is how it would have been. It was very confusing looking over all that, and seeing a lot of figures that I wasn't familiar with.
To Whom It May Concern: I would like to take the time to personally thank Veterans United for their outstanding performance in providing my son with a VA loan. Words cannot express how much we appreciate all the time and effort put into this undertaking. From the very beginning starting with the first initial phone call to Veterans United we were treated with the utmost respect. I will never forget the respresentative saying to me over the phone "Please tell your son thank you for his service to our country and everything he has done." That meant the world to me as well as my son. We have never worked with an organization such as Veterans United-- in the past I have although worked with other mortgage companies and they were nothing compared to the calliber of Veterans United. At this time I cannot think of anything that VUHL could do at this point to improved better service to the veterans and their families except EXPAND!! We desperately need more organizations like yours to serve our Veterans on a day to day basis. Our heartfelt thanks goes to the fantastic team that worked with us (Lindsey Sells, Dawn Plank and Chris Holdman.) They are the best and we will never forget them!!Respectfully,Jeff Wood, Lynette Wood and Steve Wood

Not a good experience just before and during closing. The additional wait time pushed back our plans to get into the home and have appliances delivered. Have everything completed before anyone goes into closing. I received a call at the closing telling me that VHUL could not verify my employment? I would think that this is important and something that should have been completed in a more timely manner. It held us up for 3 days. All incuding the realtor and builder were very stressed. I just think this could have been avoided.
