I made a recommendation nover the phone that buyers should have a clear understanding of the APR rate offered at the time of filing the application could drastically change over night. Therefore they should have the option to lock and secur a low interes rate if it seem like this could change for a higher rate during the process of purchase.
Get the ball rolling faster on the home inspection and appraisal.

I don't think you can improve on an outstanding job that is already being done.
My only complaint would be how long the whole process took, which seemed a bit lengthy for a refi. However, we were given an approximate date for closing the day we called in to do the application and they were spot on. Very impressive!

I can think of nothing, everything my spouse and I experienced concerning VUHL was awesome, we were kept updated, anytime we called with a question or concern we were given prompt answers and if we had to leave a message our call was always returned quickly.
Maybe make a checklist for first time home buyers. Not just that packet informing us how to prepare our move. Make it more about financials ie don't deposit cash into your bank or plan on using cash to pay for things like deposits.
there were some events in the process where our loan officer was unable to access certain nformation; ; i.e. the appraisal, naturally we were anxious to get the resuls, it;s this piece of the process that my loan officer was not connected and had to rely upon other depts to find out if the appraisal was uploaded. I think this process could be a little more transparent and allow immediate access for the loan officer to be able to get the results and eliminate some of the aniety each client must feel., just wiating. Can you look at your process , make improvments which will allow inclusion of the appriasl report at the level in which a loan officer can obatin as soon as they are upload? The only other suggestion we have is make sure all your loan officers are as knowledegable as Eric Soete.
We were very happy with the service and help at all stages of the home buying experience. Everyone we worked with was very knowledgeable, kind and eager to help. We felt like our loan was a priority even if it wasn't the highest dollar.
